It gives me great pleasure in announcing the release of Scorched3D version 43.3d. This is a minor bugfix release. This release is NOT compatible with any previous versions of Scorched3D (even 43.3).

This release is a rollup of many small fixes that have become available since 43.3 and should improve the stability of the game.

Download here

Full change log:
Code:
Added version number and build time into the log/console
Fixed memory corruption bug (deletion of void *)
Fixed issue where tank types were not being correctly reflected across clients
Fixed issue where resized images were incorrectly changing the number of components
Fixed bug where connecting to a team game could crash the client
Fixed bug where some attributes of the client's tank types were not correct
Fixed bug where tank type wasn't sent to clients
Fixed socket leaking when disconnecting from a server
Fixed bug with program name being displayed as tank2
Fixed bug where client could crash after loading if immediately disconnected
Fixed bug where texture scaling levels with non RGB textures could cause a crash
Fixed bug where lots of sounds played during level load/sync

There's no just-patch install? I can't go re-download it again, it's just too loong.
But I will update... somehow.

Hmm...
It's still doing the ghost-bot bug. i kill them all, and it still thinks one's alive till we skip-all.

Happens at least half the time when playing online alone.

I havent tested it on all servers, only the 2 i run so far. Yours get more diverse traffic, and
they may be able to answer more. While swars seems to get it very seldom, the Merge
server experiences it for me quite often.

Common situations involve me bombing them accurately with a suitable weapon, and they
appear to be quite destroyed. However, when i kill the final one, the game stays active for
another 5-8 turns. Monitoring server logs at the same time as i play, shows me that they
either die of a weapon that can cause a suicide at close range.. Or they skip-all just like i do.

Sounds like merge is using a weapon/combo that is causing a client/server sync issue. I'll download it and have a look.

Hi, why version 43.3 isn't available on debian/Ubuntu? Any reason to always exclude them from last releases?

Thanks :(

I hope this helps, try the link below.

I am not sure why sourceforge only has 43.2 listed for those, but since you mentioned it here it will be looked into by Gavin or other admins I am sure.

Good luck RedFox

For me it works, it is only a little bit more complicated to install then on other operation systems, because you need to use a terminal window... I am used to it, but it has a long learning curve. I suggest to read the getdeb install instructions. I hope this helps...

BTW: sorry for my bad English
