It gives me great pleasure in announcing the release of Scorched3D version 43.1. This is a minor bugfix release fixing some issues in version 43.

The main emphasis for release 43 is to streamline and improve the playing experience. The upshot is that the game can play like a RTS in some of the game modes. In general the game play has been sped up with less waiting around.

For a full change log for version 43 see here:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/scorch ... G.txt/view

Change log for version 43.1:
Changed ambient sounds levels to change better with the sound slider
Lowered the default sound levels for some of the louder ambient sounds
Changed shot camera so it always follows the shot regardless of what else is happening.
    - If there are shots from the current player it follows the shots
    - If there are no shots but the player is alive it views from the gun
    - If the player is dead it views other peoples shots
    - If there are no shots it views from the spectator angle
Added new aim camera that always views from the players gun regardless of what else is happening
Added key bindings for aim and explosion cameras
Fixed old sight position not working
Fixed new visible sight not being aligned with the gun
Fixed new AIs not getting the correct unique ids
    Fixed auto defence not working
    Fixed gifting money not working

I've changed the two online game servers back to the original turn simultaneous mode so we can be more objective about changes between versions 43 and 42. I'll probably put up a faster paced server once we're sure everything is working smoothly.

nice turnaround

I wish there were more people that tried the beta servers. Some bugs just don't turn up until a multi player game gets going. :(

What was the turn mode you started with? I am thinking Simultaneous-NoWait is a good choice. Everyone gets to shoot the same amount of times, but get rewarded for quick thinking.

I like the new look. The maps look great. I am sorry I didnt make more time to test. The new play modes are fun and different. All and all looking good. Sorry some people dont like change. Hopefully will get to play with chopper some time and see what he thinks.

Good work Gavin. =D> =D>

And boy one of the fixed things was
" Fixed new visible sight not being aligned with the gun"
So you just was seeing things. :P

It is corrected, lasers and sniper projectiles are aimed and fired along
the sight propperly.

Re-open the in-game menu for HUD-Settings.

Last you saw it, there was an option for
"Use old Sight"

Make sure it is OFF. Deselected.

Also. there is an option to Use, or Not Use the NEW Directional view.
I already heard some fans say they loved it.. and others say the opposite.
Now, they have thier choice.

Perfect fix for the camera 4 users in my opinion. Thank you very much Gavin. I like the shot camera/action camera hybrid as it is. Thank you so much for listening and adjusting.

I could have sworn I made a post there. I was almost sure of it. I remember what I typed though so I'll repost. It was right after your two comments, Gavin.

What I said was: I think we should have done some more testing there towards the end. We were focusing on all the new features and not so much on the gameplay itself. I think the next time we do a release, we should set up a test server like we have before and all the devs and contributors should play together to find any potential issues.

We tried.. only 1 of the 3 sundays got any visitors.

And.. i'm stunned no-one else noticed this bug, but has anyone heard any of
the Firing sounds? Nuke-launch, Laser-buzz, Machine-gun rattle, Gun-fire or
Roller-cannon pops, Lava-worm's sizzle?? No-one seemed to notice anything
was wrong.. thing's seemed to be a lot quieter? The <activationsound> of
any weapon is not being played. Who wants to be the first to put this one
into the Mantis.. :D
