Gavin: please remove Bobirov and replace with someone else in Developers. I think it woul be beneficial to add developers more regularly. This person could relieve you of the time needed to sort out and add who might be helpful for us to have on. It might give some added interest for people to stick around and contribute.

Dev's: Please volunteer now -- if no one wants it, I volunteer. As I'm not tech savvy, I first recommend someone else. It need not be much more than managing the member list though

I recommend Thrax, or Laptop. We need to be able to add developers on a regular basis when we find someone intrigued by the game.

btw, I told bazz I would see about having him added if he wanted to be.

Hmm.. Interesting indeed. I diddn't even know that LT or Tlon were
invited to be Dev's.. there was no nomination, or even a note.
The list of Dev's certianly looks longer than it feels lately. Besides a post
once a year or so, there's only really been 4 of us paying attention.

It's been mostly assumed that Gavin was the Leader.. But if you really
need to assign one, I suppose I could help keep an eye on things.

There are probably a few folks that have achieved a rudimentary grasp of how
things are put together, and would probably be able to assist in our efforts.
As long as the Dev Threads remain public-read-only, it should reduce the
ammount of Spam that gets injected.

Gavin was always the leader... Not saying we need a new one but if helps I would vote for Thrax.

A suggestion, though, to try to add something more positive. Perhaps if you could find a way to reorganise the forum slightly. It seems a bit silly to have. ‘mods, modeling and development’ and ‘developer’.

What if you relabelled the first ‘mods and modeling’ and the second ‘open development’? (I guess it’s gavin whod have to do it)

A second suggestion, why not form a new open group yourself and call it ‘contributors’, or something. Perhaps you could set up regular email updates for subscribers – that way it might be a little more worthwhile.

'contributors' is a swell idea. This just seemed easier. I have suggested an email distribution. Would be a great idea. Will comment more later.

That's actually quite easy to do with built in phpbb functionality, from what I've seen. What if you had a locked 'Developer News' forum that only gavin could post in and had that presented as RSS, or what if you added a forum checkbox 'publish to rss' for important announcements. (There are probably already phpbb mods around to do that).

We'll see what gavin thinks, this is simply a moderator question for now. I'd love to see a flood of developers join in
