Good catch POM. I'm sorry that your ISP is refusing to be more helpful. If you can find a copy of your service agreement, now might be a good time to check and see exactly what the agreement says in this regard.
If you are not receiving the level of service that you were promised, politely making them aware that you know the contract terms and conditions may prove beneficial.
Good luck

Problem there is that we are on the edge of their service and we had to sign a waiver acknowledging that we were on the outskirts and they do not recommend their service. I have no other options other than hughes net UGGG which cost 20 dollars more a month and provides about the same service from what I understand of other users of this ISP. Our land line is so unstable that the 6 months we had a land line we made 17 service calls so dial up is not an option, DSL not offered here either so....I wait for a better service to be available and use what I can until then.

Same boat I am in POM...country living is great-Except for internet service. Tethering (Usb cable) my cell phone to my pc is the best move I've made so far. $18.00 per month for that (Alltel, now Verizon). When I had dial up, $27.00 per month extra landline & $8.95 per month for Econoisp.com provider. You could maybe ICS(cable or wireless) yours & Ellies puters & tether....just a thought if your Cell provider is not too spendy.

pom, there may be a few things you can do to tweak your connection. one good test if you can manage it, would be to connect from a different OS. (otherwise, especially if youre in vista as tnick was, try googling for vista internet tweaks).
i heard someone mention that there are live linux dvd's around with scorched3d integrated.
Thanks LD I use vista for now but will be going to Windows 7 soon. A good point though Mrs. is on xp and there are many times that I lag and she doesn't.
This just in...IT guy is getting 2+ mbps download and 1+ upload extremely cosistently. They claim it was the shimmer off the water from the lake that our signal crossed and have pointed him to a new tower. He says things are great now he feels like he went from dial up to cable.
As I mentioned before he paid 90 dollars for the telephone pole. Check this out, he recommended to them that they use his pole to add a repeater for those in our area. They told him that they have had several complaints in the area and would discuss it. They then came back and said "it's a go" we will use your pole to add a repeater. They are now in discussions of what kind of rent they will be paying him Looks like free ISP service for life is what they are leaning towards. Nice 90 dollar investment if you ask me.

Ubuntu Ultimate Edition has scorched 3d built in. Probably there are others, probably wise to put them on a news letter when there is a new version, they probably do a pretty good job updating themselves but if they are reminded of the latest version it likely would be faster. And the bigger the chance of new people trying S3D, if its not a playable version they may not download it to update.
OK so this thread is about being kicked my kick status is only elevating! I play or try to play almost everyday but as my play time notes this is not happening. I have no idea why!?!?!?! I check and internet status, is fine. I look for any and I mean any problem my small brain can find. I can't even finish a single game with the bots anymore.
I am not tech savy technically minded however you want to say it.
I am willing to let someone I trust, would have to be someone I trust, access to my comp to remote access my comp. If you can do that I believe this might help in diagnosing problems for other users. Hell I don't even know what would be required to fullfill this request but if you are willing to do it and you are a person I trust we can set something up I'm sure.
Let me know if this would be helpful and do'able please.

Hi bazzz :
Excellent suggestion. Hopefully it was noted by the developers. Just to be sure, reposting it in the Beta thread would be best.

Seems to me a newsletter whenever a new version comes out to all sites mentioning S3D should be standard practice, maybe there is such a thing?
Also when things are in order we could contact all registered forum users with a newsletter, since they have signed up for the forum once they might be good candidates to be interested in playing again.
Contacting on a regular basis of all the gaming sites would be an option to get someone to review the new versions, i know there are thousands of those, finding them could be something done by the collective of our community. All it needs is a structure where we can create an address list and some motivation.
I could go on for some time suggesting stuff that can be done,i could shut up and try to do it all myself. To me it seems more effective to try to set up some structures through which we can collectively try to achieve some things. Thinktanks, workgroups, whatever you want to call it.

I am sorry for your "Getting Kicked" problems POM. The only thing I can think of is your connection to the internet or a bandwidth hijacking problem. Sounds to me like you lose some sort of connection-net,router or something just long enough to get kicked out of the game. That kind of thing only happens to me if I download something while I play scorched on 1 of the servers-Then, I too get kicked.*A automatic Adobe update,Windows update,or other program update can cause this also*
Maybe check all your programs(Factory & ones you've chosen) & set them to only update when you direct them to=Manually. They may be self updating during game play. Hope I helped you, Da Vike

Hi bazzz :
No problem at all. It is easy to get overlooked unless the post is in a topic where it is hard to ignore. This thread appeared to be a poor choice. The beta thread is being actively read. Your post pertains to the beta.

You have presented many good ideas and this is yet another. I hope that you will persue them with BOY and/or Gavin.
