hello boy thanks for your response. i am now and have always run the min in scorched. last night i played two games with over 6 players in the game not booted once at all. then next game just me and bot and boom booted in the first round. it is so random when it does it drives me crazy. help boy help

could it be a hardware error?

Make sure everything that scorched could depend on is not overheating.
(limit framerate to something low, perhaps that could reduce heat, turn the temp in the room down)

Try reinstalling the game fresh dowload.

Curse vehemently.

shut down all programs that could also be useing TCP3, besides scorched?

YOu say this does not occur on any other servers, does it occur on the beta server?

Curse more.

Play scorched on a public computer near your house.

Are you wireless? replace all that hardware too, or sometimes just moving it or dusting it off.....

If you are using an unsecured wireless connection you might want to check for a free loader. Regardless of the results, if the router is not secure, you might want to consider securing it for peace of mind.

However, I have been having a little lag the past couple of days using a hardwired cable connection.
Not to the point of dropping, but to the point of missing buy ins and missing shots.

Thinking of you ... I contemplated dropping out of the game and doing some testing but alass ...
the lags were fleeting and the smurfs were bleating.

You might want to check your net logs to see if your computer has been invaded or is being attacked but as shown in the earlier testing, my connections to anywhere off shore seem to have degraded recently and degraded quite substantially.

no rommel i dont have wireless connection if you look at my original post i think i stated i have a 20mb down and 5mb up fiber optic connection. my pc connects to verizons router via cat 5 cable the router to the street via coaxial. i have update my nividia graphics card drivers i have done a fresh download of game i have just updated my vista to sp2. i have done everything possible to correct this. attention boy i have not download the new beta version at all. im running the safe mood in settings with only 1 mod to that and that is the resolution and sound. today my mcafee security found a trojan during a scan nothing major i went into the mcafee and was checking programs allowed inbound and outbound access scorched was only outbound so i made that all access still no luck.

Hopefully (geee, that sounds strange) you had something accessing the
Internet without your expressed consent and now have it under control.

I am still having occassional lags but not to the point of getting kicked.
POM is getting kicked but he is using a wireless connection and does not
seem to be having any more trouble than he did before you reported a
problem.

NOTE : There have been some recent disturbances in the force.

Did you run Speedtest tests to the Atlanta, GA
test site and compare your numbers to mine?

P.S. - This just occurred to me ... I have had bandwith
issues due to streaming news sites, a pdf, etc. trying to
hog the connection.

I'm sorry I don't remember if you have tried this but if not ...

You might want to do a minimal boot.
Nothing running you don't need.
And see what happens then.

Are you close to anything sensitive, like say ... Seattle/Redmond ???

9:40 PM - Several tests later ... no appreciable increase in performance.

hello rommell im using the same speed test but dont know how to copy that little box and post it here. well any way i just ran one to london england

download was 11.68
upload was 2.06
and the latency 349ms which seems really high

i also just ran one to atlanta

download was 18.77
upload was 4.15
and the latency was 89ms

both these test where done on a friday night at 6pm pst which should be a very busy time. so if you could tell me how you copy and paste those results rommel i would greatly appreciate it.

All you need to do is go to the links you posted and save the photos.
Then you can post them here.

The way I did it was :

Run the test, then hit the print screen button on the keyboard.
Immediately open windows paint and paste the screen capture
into the blank document created.
Mask the area to be saved using the mask tool and select COPY.
Paste the area you copied into a new document without saving the previous one.
Adjust the paper size and save the new document.

Perhaps we should draw a diagram to draw in Laptop's Daddy.

He lives close to the game server I think.

before i saw your post rommell i tried copy to forum link and copy to direct link. then at top of page i found your results went there and then use the top one of the three choices they give you and the url link here, it seemed to work. oh and im closer to portland oregon only 35 miles im 150 miles from seatlle my first hop is portland im almost positive of that.

Oh yeah !!! Good news! Good news for you at least.

I had lag so bad I couldn't play earlier today.
However, I was able to exit the game and come
right back with only mimimal delays after that.

My connection tests to the Atlanta site sucked all day.

rommel when you go to test results click in the top one that says most forums link and copy and paste that between the url here in messages that worked for me.

Perhaps it's like the rolling black outs from days of yore.

You seem to have good access today.

P.S. - Thanks for the update. Portland is noted.
Redmond/Seattle was choosen due to the proximity
of the Micro$oft headquarters.

Hopefully when they are under attack you are not
being choked out. I'll try some tests to Portland, OR
after I get a decent local connection.

you say i am having good connection day well rommel i just tried playing scorched. i was being booted almost every round. every other round for sure. during the 5 rounds i played i was booted 4 times. there was two players and the bot only in the server. i dont understand it what so ever.
