I have version 42.1 and it wont run!

Trying to run this on vista 64 bit in compat mode with xp. get this same message every time. the game starts to load, the screen goes black, then nothing.

I ctrl + alt + del to close it then it says "unable to create shadow buffer frame" followed by a message about configuration settings.

1. compatibility mode is unnecesary

You should be able to disable shadows in the settings to skip past that error (hopefully), shadows are nice, but not having them is no big issue really (unless you're a graphics card, then it's alot easier not having them ).

1. so i should just uncheck the compatibility mode box and run it as if it was compatible with vista?

2. my gfx card is ATI Radeon HD 3200. I am not really tech savvy so I really dont know what that means or how to run this game successfully.

Just make sure you have the latest graphics card drivers for your card from ATI's website and it should be ok.

well, I found that I can run the game in Vista 64 bit, and once I disabled all shadows the game does run. But it now does not draw any landscapes (because shadows are disabled?). I checked and found that my gfx card is fully up to date!!!

Should I just uninstall and start over??
