There is, in a sence.
Most mods have been immunized against the currently public 'insult'.. I've mentioned to gavin how he could do the same on his, but since it's a core mod, modifications aren't commonly accepted.
Invite these players to a level playing field, and you should feel more at ease. If they refuse, then you'll know they have no real ability and are only looking to ruin a popular past-time.
Also, PM an admin or developer about these admitting cheaters, so we can remove them from our sight. The more vigilant you are in reporting abuse, the quicker we can solve it.

NEWS FLASH - DECEMBER 10, 2008
THE ADMINS ARE PART OF THE PROBLEM.
We have admins that don't respect the rules. We have admins that appear to be using assisted methods. We have admins that don't know how to set up and run a server.
Don't expect any help from them and you won't be dissapointed.
There are 3 valid avenues open those that are bothered by cheating.
1. Stop playing Scorched 3D on-line. 2. Use what the game provides to help level the field. 3. Get cozy with the cheaters and get them to help you.
About the mods, Thrax reported that some of them contain malicious code. If so, they aren't safe and most likely all of them (except Thax's) should be avoided.
Best wishes,
Rommel

This doesn't help you with the heavy suspicion already upon you in this matter..
I say immunized, only in the aspect that those using these hacked exe's will no longer be shown any pre-aiming lines.. They are forced to play the same as everyone else.
No Mods contain any form of malicious code.. They "Can not" do anything of the sort. They are merely lines of shapeing and effect information read by the engine and turned into visible form. Gavin has already designed the engine to read only specific types of files in the mod-folders. Any other un-recognized files, such as DLL's, Exe's, or Java-scripts are ignored totally and would never be sent to the downloading player.
It's the players using publically distributed hacks that are at the most risk.

No need for inflammatory remarks, things will get overblown without them.Unless anyone wants to poison the athmosphere on purpose ,think what you want to accomplish before you make your remarks.

@Rommel
First of all hi, again
For all the stuff you said in your post i am sure you must have enough, reliable evidence to prove your points. It seems the problem you state must be some other problem non-related to aimbot issue but more like admin concerns. Furthermore, your solutions don't solve anything...

That is just not right man! I hope that was sarcasm and that you are not encouraging that the community holds in his arms aimbot users.
Even tough i see your point Rommel and i think i understand you...(OMG is this good or bad )
On the other hand, every game has this kind of problems. Admins do they job trying to keep safe and fair the servers from this, but surely it is a non ending problem. We must live with it, we must deal with it, we must fight it.

theres no way to immunise against aimbots, and certainly no way to stop it through a game mod.
no serious hacker is going to bother writing a scorched aimbot. its a free open source game! itd be like taking sweets from children.
i see two aimbot author avenues. one: the guy doesnt understand that its not cool and doesnt realise the harm (s)hes doing, two: they understand plenty, and are a previously offended or slighted player looking to prove a point.
in either case, communication is key. theres no way to force the issue on this.
highlight the rules... a note on joining the server to the effect of 'please play fair. aiming enhancements and cheating methods can be very damaging to online play and are prohibited'.
perhaps backed up by a more detailed forum post suggesting that talented programmers contribute to the cool stuff, not the stuff that sucks.
ps: rommel, the admins are volunteers. no doubt you get what you pay for, but for my penny, they do fine. (cept for the ones who suck)

Communication?Like in having equal and espectfull talks, wouldnt we be appeasing to the terrorists? And what do you mean we cant force, we are all powerfull,if we show our weakness *THEY* will win.Stop your crazytalk you liberal hippie communicationist!

ok, ty all for ur replies. Some of them helped me to see the things a bit clearer. its right that there will always be problems with them but i will get along with them. Perhaps someday i kick an aimboters ass... (-: this would be cool. the other stuff some of u wrote about admins sounds intresting but i know a couple of good admins here so dont let the black sheeps make us looking black. there r many good admins here. Cheating admins would be the most unfair thing in this game but im sure thats just an exemption.

Rommer....I'm very disappointed that on an aimbot thread you would say admins are part of the problem and go on a rant like that.
I was almost starting to like you again. Now, I'm afraid I'll just ignore you. If you dislike this game so much....what are you doing here?

I agree in principle... where did raven go again? Couple of others don't remember the names.
Some of the 'help' though reminds me of n3tdev.
Well... After being banned from all servers for openly admitting to cheating, Raven/PAM/ROFLMAO decided that trying to corrupt the game's purity wasn't as worthwhile as it seemed.
