I've imported the Half Life 1 V-22 Osprey model over into a Milkshape 3D Ascii model for use in Scorched...now, it seems that it, and any model converted from Half Life 1, cause scorched to crash the moment the Loading Tanks screen appears. No error message that the textures are wrong, or the model is named wrong. Just 'scorchedc.exe has stopped working', which closes the renderer and kicks me back to the main window asking me if I'd like to run Scorched in safe mode. Same thing happens in safe mode mind you.

They're in Milkshape3d ascii format, and have .PNG textures, which does work. Check my Generals pack.

try running scorched from a command line like this
scorched3dc -allowexceptions
then it should give you the error.

There are no gun or gun pivots in your file either.

"c:\Program Files\Scorched3D\scorchedc.exe" -allowexceptions , right?

I put that into Run, and, eh, sadly I got the same thing. Renderer screen went white when it came time to load the tanks, and scorchedc.exe stopped working. Same as before. (I also added gun and gun pivot points this time around to see if these affected the situation at all. Same result.)

The model is posted up in the original post as osprey.rar If that doesn't work, I can repost it up.

For some reason each vertex has an invalid bone index. The bone index is set to 0 (0 is the 1st bone) when there are no bones defined in the file.

The original models had skeletons in them, but I imported it without the skeleton. Is there a way to change the bone index on the vertexes?

Could you post the original model here? Before you converted it?

It's the last number on each vertex line in the exported file, currently 0 should be -1. Sorry I don't know if you can remove them in the program or not.

Here is the original Osprey as a HL1 Model. I used the Milk Shape MDL decompiler, then imported the model and its textures(no skeleton) into MS. I gave it the proper sections (turret, gun, and soforth) and exported as Milkshape 3d Ascii.

If this is the only change required:

You can use a text editor to do this.
