A nuke with a real mushroom cloud and shock waves would be cool.

The shockwave has been mentioned before and I agree. It really is the only major thing that was in the original Scorched that isn't in this one.

There was also a guy around a few years ago who was doing some work coming up with a dynamic mushroom cloud effect that was much more realistic. Unfortunately, he disappeard shortly after posting a GIF of what it should look like in 2D. :(

Sounds good to me! :)

However (and before anyone asks yes I am reffering to vanilla scorched with this remark), nukes as a weapon are still pretty darn useless. How many times have you seen a newbie eagerly spend their first hard earned cash on a pack 'o nukes just to see their anticipation of brute destruction literally dissapear in a puff of smoke? I'd say the nuke needs some tuning in that area as well (not as an another overkill weapon but rather a decent one as opposed to now). Me and BD experimented a while ago and found some nice settings that made the nuke a viable choice. I seem to have displaced the document with the specific settings though, so if you still have it BD, please refresh my memory. ;)

Sorry for going this thread offtopic but:

in babyies rules (and ffa too) they are useful. Instead 'dig & roll' you can make 'nuke & roll'. and there are still chance that you can kill your opponet with a nuke.

other possible use: when you cant afford frog you can always shoot a nuke. They are tactical weapons when your enemy is semi-visible.
in general i agree that hurt amount of the nukes is low.

Yeah, I see the nukes as a bit underpowered. They seem more like a Super large conventional explosion. They should have a larger radius of effect with a shockwave of burning plasma that propagates outward a small distance.

Also what about a user defined detonation height for them?
