This was brought to my attention by a player and I figured it deserved a post so I'm going to quote some of the message I got.

Quote:
THE PROBLEM:

1. When the admin says something it does not identify them.

EXAMPLE:

PLAYER says: Hi everyone.
ADMIN says: all seem ok now yes

This shows on the game screen as (minus the centering):

PLAYER : Hi everyone
all seem ok now yes
PLAYER : Hey @$$#*!& that's my #%^*&#$ avatar.

Although the text from the admin is centered on a new new line and is obviously not from Legion, apparently it is confusing for some.

THE SOLUTION:

Identify the admin as ADMIN so that the new text reads:

PLAYER : Hi everyone
ADMIN : all seem ok now yes
PLAYER says: Hey @$$#*!& that's my #%^*&#$ avatar.

Seems like a fair enough request that when an admin is speaking, it should be presented as such so as to avoid any confusion.

Apologies if this has been brought up before.
Undead.

And to think .. i'd been manually typing Thrax: for every message i
sent via server-console for over a year.. :D

yes, a name on the head would be nice. Although, i'll be doing about
75% less chatting that way now that the direct server-console is gone.
i've resorted to just joining the v41 game i wanted to monitor.

Yeah, that would make things easier on the player.... but then the Admin couldn't mess with the players' minds (grins at Thrax). Kidding....

You did take care of the issue of the magical voice, though, Thrax. But I'm still surprised you don't IM with "Thrax:" at the start of every chat.

There have been umpteen times when an oblivious player wants to know who the hidden player who's talking is. Having an Admin label would take care of it. But would the label be customized (Admin changing it to their nicname, or would it be a standard Admin label)?

On another note, I don't care for not being able to talk to the Admin in v41. I like to tell the Admins what I think. And have them respond back.
I don't think you'll want to spend that much cash unless you want a beer cooling -dehumidifing - computer case that waters your house plants.
