Some might think it funny, I think it is insane. I checked this site and it is for real. This is the reason I do not post my last name anywhere publicly viewable on the internet.

By first look, this site only work on USA residents. Is there one for Europe?

Beginning (JULY '06) a new database will be available to the general
public free of charge that displays your personal information(names,
addresses, phone numbers, birth dates). (Social Security is available
for a price.) The database is found at http://www.zabasearch.com/ type
in your name and check ... you'll be as SHOCKED as I was!
I urge you to forward this email to family and friends.
Check to see if your name and information is in their
database. If so and you want it removed, send them an
e-mail at info@zabasearch.com <mailto> to request
it be removed. I do not know how our names are appearing there, but I
checked my own and a few other random ones and they are all in this
database!
After opting out by email, check back after a few days to make certain
your information has been removed. If it has not been removed then file
a complaint with your State's Attorney General.

I've seen plenty of sites that can do this, online phone book sites for one, and a few other other people search site, http://www.bigfoot.com for one which has been around for a while. (I've use big foot to try and find some of my friends I've lost touch with. (dang you, common names!))

Most of the time the sites can't find me but the one you posted was pretty close but doesn't have my correct address on it.

bigfoot.com aparently uses the same database as zabasearch, but it wasn't free from what I saw. Both are powerd by Intelius.

Bwahahaha! With the second most common first name through 3 decades and an Asian last name, the site found 77 matches for me. Going to middle initial, there were still 14 matches. If soneone can find me in that mess, they deserve a medal.

I searched all 50 states for my name w/o middle initial, and it pegged me right on the money, my wife too. :(

It found a lot of my relatives but not me.

What I say tomorrow may contradict what I say today.
So listen to what I say, not what I said.

Hmmmm, I didn't know that "Pasty W. Guy" was that common. ;)

Sorry, I'll only do it if BOY creates a Zabasearch metal. ;)

Actually, I was thinking that Zabasearch has been around a little longer than BOY's post suggests. I remember that name from back in '05.

It's kind of fun to play with, though.

Just so not too worry too much, I'm told this sort of info is condsidered public just like your name in any phone book. I still don't like the idea of such an easy internet phone book though. It feels creepy.

I live in Missouri, the official state of horrific kidnappings and really creepy people, so I know what I'm talking about.

Your not the only one that lives in a state that has some creepy things that have gone on. A twenty year old muder was solved not long ago and the details on what was done to the women was nastier than what I've seen on CSI.
