A nice new review of scorched at runtime entertainment...

Quote:
A professionally realized remake of an already fun DOS-Game called Scorched Earth. Nice three dimensional levels, a great gameplay and a huge diversity concerning your equipment guarantee hours of entertainment. A huge community and even some mods will provide the existence of the game for years to come.

Very nice review there. I was even happier because many of the pics are from Apocalypse. :)

Yeah, you should post some quotes from it on the front page with the ever growing positive reviews.

Yeah .. they got a nice nice picture! (even if it IS apoc :P)

Recently I've been wondering.. do these people ever grab a s/s from the real servers (Apoc / Official) or you think they always start thier own instance?

I'm still waiting to see a day where in these screenshots you see someone like Dire or Bob in there.

The only reason its from Apoc is that its always at the top of the list and the main servers are at the bottom. Wouldnt it make sence to have the main servers at top?

Hi!

I'm new to this site and have a weird question!
I'm searching for a game like scorched earth, or s.e. 3d.
I last played with it on DOS between 1994-97.
It had a large inventory of weapons, and had I think 2D graphics, but actually in 3D, so the map was'nt 2D. A map was just one screen big and had just one colour. (or few?) The music and the graphics was good although it was a DOS based game. It had AI, so could play against computers. My favourite was Atom-bomb, the explosion had a great graphics and also everything vanished. :)

I searched it everywhere on net, on wikipedia too, but couldn't find it!

Help me please! I'm searching it for years!

Hmm, unfortunately I don't ever remember a game like that. When you say the landscape is 3D, does it have a perspective like Scorched 3D or does it have a side-scroll view like in the old Scorched?

The landscape was like in scorch 3d, but only one camera view was available, so you did see a 3D form in 2D.
Now I remember, the maps had only one colour, and you could see the function lines/the curves, but it was destroyable too, like in SC 3D.

I played with the scorched 3d yesterday, it was fine, but I miss the tons of weapons and the graphics is a little elementary nowdays, but there is a lot of new idea in it. So it's great, but I am still looking for that game! :)
Thanks for help!

try this one maybe, the landscapes are purely 2d but from the other part of description you gave, it pretty much reminds me it:

pocket tanks

This one is the most similar to the game I'm looking for.

I think it sounds more like genocide
http://www.mobygames.com/game/dos/genocide

if you look at the screen shots
http://www.mobygames.com/game/dos/genocide/screenshots

you will see the phantom-bomb which is the larger version of the atom-bomb.

dl it here
