Hay man, pretty nice stuff (the icons). You may want to re-post them to the general forum to get a wider audience.

I swear i made a post here but probably i forgot to hit send.

Anyway it was about how yusufs tank looks similar to the newgrounds tank.

Altough they did have a "photoshop the newgrounds tank" i doubt that they want it used for anything without their consent.

Ah, I guess he diddn't remake it.
While we were playing online a few days ago, I'd mentioned that they look like
the logo for another game and site elsewhere. I knew I had seen it several
places before; but since I go thru tons of them, I'd forgot which exactly...

Altho yusef did bring up an interesting point.
While the current banner logo has now become a recognizable symbol for
thousands on the web, why not also have a smaller icon-like Logo secondary
to it.
Heck, even if someone felt like working over the current to crisp up the letters
and flames a bit, it'd still be the same thing everyone knows and loves. I'm sure
we have a few master artists in the crowd.

i duplicated the logo about a year ago to demonstrate an 'animated flames' concept. viewtopic.php?f=11&t=4523&p=40389. didnt keep the files though.

i quite like the current one. its like an old official stamp. we do get some very talented people around the forums, though. how about a contest, mr c?

ps:
flash is the new gif : )

I like the idea of a few more laser visuals and features, and a minor
animate/rotate to shields would definately look great. And as far as
Gavin's proposed Model-shaped collision objects, We'd been toying with
that idea for a version or so now. It would only be a matter of solving how..
and seeing if it drags the game to a halt trying to process it all.

I'm always happy to encourage thought, and explain what can be done.
Even trying to get some "stick-in-the-mud" players to explore variety..
But I don't make the final decisions on what is added or not, that is left up
to our genious(yet seroiusly overworked) creator, Gavin. :D

I like the Scorched 3D logo on the metal. Reminds me of the Jurassic Park 3 logo concepts, though. (Terrible movie!) The tank logo is nice too. :D

A serious issue was overlooked in this thread.

Involving the game in a copyright crime is more detrimental to the life of the game than using software to cheat.

the current logo is very blurry and sluggish.. so i decided to redesign it completely and bring a lil more of value into it

i got 2 samples here

ANYTHING submitted by Yusuf, should be used with extreme caution.

Copyright suits, even those you win, can be very costly.

Ahh rommel brought up the topic.

I wanted to make a post elsewhere but ill just do it here.

1)I dont see the animated shield support approved yet? whats stopping that ?
2)The GUI i posted has also received no response for a long time. Is it going to be used in the next version?
3) A lot of improvements can be made on the explosions. Me and Thrax had a discussion on this and i suggested that we have small avi explosion clip support insted of the current system where a sequence of images a displayed in rapid succession. (In the industry we call that animation :) )

when is all this going to be approved or worked on?

regards,

Yusuf
