I am re working a map and need some help with
<modelrotationsnap>#</modelrotationsnap> (optional)
The angle (in degrees) to snap the rotation of the
model to. Setting this to 0 will force the model to face North, whereas setting it to 90 will cause it to be placed (at random) to North, South, East, or West, and setting of 45 will also allow for Southeast, etc.. Setting it to 1 will yield random rotation.

I want it to rotate a model so that it faces west. I have tried all sorts of angles cant seem to get it any ideas?

<modelrotionsnap> is only for ensuring that random rotations are aligned as desired*.... if you want a specific rotation just use the normal <modelrotation> and leave out the snap - should do it.

To be honest, I don't fully understand that page, but it sounds like it provides the answers you need. - Deathstryker

yes for some reason even though you set modelrotationsnap at say 90

sometimes it flips backwards despite this.. so one map it will show 90
then the next it will be 180.

it's better to just adjust/align the model in degrees threw your 3d modeler.
and leave the <modelrotationsnap>0</modelrotationsnap>

<modelrotationsnap> refers to the amount of angle degrees it's going
to snap the randomized angle to..
eg,if you set 45, it's got 8 choies of direction it can stop at.
0,45,90,135,180,225,270,315.

at 90, it snaps to 0,90,180,270..

it's only limiting the choices of angle, not setting it specifically.
