Well, if nothing else, I wouldn't mind having a place to house models!
I've also thought about doing some other mod work, and this would be a good way to colloberate and share efforts. If you wish to add me, I'm (surprise) cbx550f on sf.net.

I'm b0bir0v on sf.net if you want to add me in, I'm up for it. Those are zero's in place of O's. I think its a great idea but I just don't know what all is involved to get the project up and running on sourceforge so I've been quiet. We really do need a hub for all the mod work that is going on though. That way people know where to look for mod updates without having to search through the individual posts on the forums or hunt down the official servers which may or may not be available. And having our mod files hosted for free wouldn't hurt either..

If you want to just put up a zip file of a mod realease, just go to admin, then "File Releases" and scroll down to the bottem and create the package - it'll pretty much walk you through it.
As for cvs, if you haven't already, check http://sourceforge.net/docs/E04 I don't use cvs enough for uploading code, so I always have to check on how.

I got the first part, doing a release, but I was looking at how to use the cvs to upload code, it was talking about "floss"ing the files and my mind was imploding.

Format for releasing your mod.
Please put your mod in this folder format.
Top folder, Your Mods name ---> Jdogmod (my top folder)
Second folder name, version of scorch your mod is for
--------> V39.1( I know I put Jdogmod again)
reuse the version folder for each version of your mod that is for that
version of Scorched3d
I.e you release 1.0, 1.1 and 1.2 for version 39.1 but version 40
is released and for it now you would have a folder called V40
and 1.3 in it.
No packaging in exe format.
Hows zip or rar format for compression for everyone?
Is this agreable to all?
Any suggestions as to a format for non mods? (models, model packs,
tank packs)
@BOY, please join Source forge so I can add you to the project and so you can upload your mod.
@BrainDamage, please name your mod before uploading to the folder
for your mod.

For packaging I'd recommend sticking to "zip" or supplying both zip and gz/bz2.
Also, when you create an archive, please archive it such that it includes a parent folder. For example, if I put up a cbxmod.zip, when unzipped it should look like:
cbxmod/file1
cbxmod/data/
etc
