I really enjoy talking with folks in other countries, drinking stoli/tonic... pulling off shots that seem impossible, drinking..

Fact: CO2 = less than .04% (.00038) of the atmosphere - only a small fraction of that is man made.

I am having MAJOR problems trying to convert it from the old
alpha v40 as all the new features have broken down into numerous
changes and now many new xml's are scattered all over.

but fear not it's a working progress and I will put up a preview
alpha testing server so you can all watch it progress and play a
little in it while giving your own suggestions & feedback.

note: this will take some time.. both to download --because of
my *stoneage* dialup 56k modem-- (and) to develope into a fully
functional unique mod with custom new maps weapons etc..etc.

if all goes well.. in mid august you will all finaly see the test server up.

Just keep asking question and we'll answer as best we can! Have you checked out the systax info page in the doc section? There will be a few small changes to the napalm part do to some values be inverted when put in the game.

ok well everything is going well in developement.

this process is going to be loooooong and slow but
in the long run going to be well worth the wait.


heres a screeny of the new atat i placed on the hoth map
along with a few probedroid boids and speeders its all
looking very cool 8)

I am hoping that gavin will be adding a few tags that I still
desperately need soon or the mod may be kinda dull.

1) trees/placements that can shoot weapons and move/animate.
2) boids that can shoot weapons and animate.

PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEASE.

You can add placements that can shoot, just use object type='tank' I believe. I think jdog has an example of that on his castle map in the jdogmod. I have yet to get around to trying it out myself.

There are also AI specific accessories and tank files, but I don't know what they are called. Anyone know what the name of those two files should be and how that works?

Shock, if you need a dowload server, I would be willng to donate my bandwidth for you if you need it. The possiblitly extists that I will upgrade bandwidth soon.

currently I have 400 Kbps max upload speed

the scenery looks awesome. :D

for a short time last nite(5-6hrs) we had it open for alpha-demo players.

weapons are still in the beginning stages, but the visuals and maps are
breathtaking..

Thanks guys for all your support and for any help you have contributed
in helping me in any way :D I much appriciate you all!

brain damage: for contibuting all of your laser weapon syntax
& death star weapons into the mod.

thrax: thanks for being a major beta tester and hosting the temporary
alpha server for anyone to check it out @ the stage its currently @.

bobirov: thanks for all your teachings I can alwasy count on you to stay
informed/current on all the latest features and how to manipulate all
their uses!

jdog: for always jumping in to help when I am stuck :D

cambo: for contributing the hoth cannon & death star models.

cbx: for giving the mod a darth vader stickered cowbell seal
of aproval :D

boy: for keeping me motivated into starting this mod and offering to
be the official server... the job is all yours!! and we want stats! :D
I was planning on handing the mod over to you anyways at some
final stage point but you already knew that :P

lastly & most important Mr Gavin Camp: for adding all the tags that
have made this all possible (even) if it took you out of your way to
add *special* features just for the mod. p.s. YOU ROCK!

and to all that wish to contribute as I have always said..

Scorch Wars is a community mod so please feel free to help its
developement and help contribute anything from -
maps/weapons/sounds/starwars music & I will be more then
glad to check it out & add whatever it is in.

I am also seriously considering that a *handoff* point might be easier
so lets say I hand the mod @ the stage its's @ to robert and then he
spends a week or so adding his own map and changing / adding
xml changes/ bases etc.. then @ that point he handsoff the mod
to jdog for him to add ontop of that stage..

this might just be the easiest way I think for people to
help build it all... then at whatever that mod needs as far
as models/wav effects the current moder can then scorch pm me
and request I make/send them *whatever* it is needed for him to
complete the weapon/base/map etc..etc
to the ftp servage server repository.

then the process continues to whatever moder wants to help

the only way this will work though is if you guys work on it
1 moder @ a time otherwise things could get un organised & messy.

so dont even download it until its your turn and the next handoff
takes place.. then when that moder is done & uploads the new
copy of the .s3m file the next moder gets it from that point.
etc..etc.

Anyways, if any of you like this idea & want to help ...
just let us know here in this post (or) to get aproved please
go threw robert hand & just scorch private message him as he
maintains the known list of capable moders and will give you access
to the ftp servage site username / password so you can then retreive
the current mod stage and start working in it.

this is for *Only* known moderators who know what they are doing
who will get that link & password & not make it public to anyone else
Please!

these would be the same people who have access to the scorched cvs
builds and mod scorched on a daily basis and wish to help contribute.

..so if you are just a player trying to get access to dl the mod..
Just download it off of boys/thraxes posted server in the public
refresh list please.

note: I am still currently adding all the looks/feel of the mod
maps/placement models/sound effects etc, etc and wont be making
any weapons until last so theres only a few weapons to play with
currently or until the 6 or 7 unique planet maps are all completed
along with all the artwork/effects so dont be suprised if you dont
see any new weapons for a while.
