Its true, with the feature requests implemented just for this mod to date and in the future, I'd say his input would be helpful.
However, there's no reason to go "poofing" anthying. You're sounding rather rash, and well, since you can't delete the mod from everywhere you can't really make it poof. I suppose you could quit, but err, that would be silly too, wouldn't it.

ok guys whoever put up the scorchwars *mod* on the sforge mod.. project I guess It's time to yank it down.
This is in progress. Honestly, it saddens me to see it, but it did not fit the policy.

Honestly, I could care less if it was on sourceforge or not anyways.. and, I see no reason to risk the sf mods project that you all worked so hard on at a risk of being shut down due to my part, ofcourse.
Thank you. And don't worry, I know there was no intent to "break any rules" or anything. Also, I know that most people likely think that I may be a bit strict on the "Open Source" bit, but it's something that I love, and believe in. It has served me well, and has allowed me to help out in things that serve others, which makes cbx a happy guy.

so rob feel free to remove it from the sf mods project entirely you being the head haNchO there I imagine you already have rights to do so.. in wich case I guess I am wondering why this was even a debate.. you have the rights to yank it down so do so?
I'm speaking for myself here, but *I* didn't just want to "yank it down" outright without any forewarning or anything. (Nor did I really want to take it down, I just honestly felt that was what must be done.)

HowEveR, ..I tend to disagree with you both on it not being a gavin related issue.. Scorched3D is the Game the *mod* uses to play it in..so thats the only concern I had..was to protect our game and scorched 3d project entirely..
Gavin does not host the mod, but merely provides the vehicle that it rides in. Prime example: For many years, FTP and HTTP have been used to illegally transfer copyrighted software and media, but Microsoft isn't responsible because they sold you IE, nor is WSFTP responsible for providing that. Neither is Stanley responsible because they made a hammer that some guy bludgeoned some other guy to death with.
I am not a lawyer, but I'm confident that Gavin (and the rest of the dev team, for that matter), is not responsible for what you do with the tool.
I hope that helps make my opinions clear (many of these *I* feel to be facts, but opinions differ, I know. )
Cheers, and thanks Rob, for pointing out the simple fact that removing the cvs is a good solution for all.
Keep up the good work guys!

Oki folks...
With the emminent flush from SourceForge, i've decided to post
a taste of the mod for you right here! (approx 40mb)
Anyone wanting to play it at home or over LAN's, can import it themselves.
Feel free to connect to the Official Server anytime afterwards to grab
the latest autoupdates. Please consider actually trying to play it on
the server, set up in the way it was intended to be enjoyed.

I not tryin to step on anyones flowers here but whtat the hell is SourceForge? Is it the ability to upload a server or mod?
Thrax and Shock you guys did a verry good job on this mod and would hate to see it go down the tubes.
Is there anyway we could just chage it just alittle to make it more of a parody?
If this mod is under atack because of copy rights wouldnt that mean the tanks also would go under such a rule? Including sonic, simpsons or futurerama tanks also have such "copy rights" or are you just lookin at Lucas Arts copy rights becaue i know for a fact that even cartoons fall under copy right laws.
You cant pass your own drawings as the real deal or sell say like snoopy shirts that you drew with out some type of copy right to make them leagal........ hmmm somthing to think about tank makers.

SourceForge, is a Programmer's archive.
A place where any person working on Code can back it up.
When you work with a group of others, sometimes thing's get mixed
and bugs appear. Sourceforge hosts a system called CVS, that lets
people keep the code up to date for all members submitting pieces.
For the purposes of Mods, we were storing the mod code there, nothing
more. But thier rules state strictly what type of thing's can be stored.
So i can instead keep the Scorchwars mod here in my own system as we
work on it.. and anyone that wants to play, can grab free
auto-updates directly from the active server.
The Mod and all it contains, is in no danger of being dropped, scrapped
or gutted. The little content in it that is live (voice, sounds, etc), can be
considered the teeeniest form of copyrighted material. but only if the mod
was any kind of threat to Cap'n Lucas's Billion dollar empire...

some cant handle the power of some of those weps
wimps..... I do have 1 sugestion.... a small photon torpedo that would be better then the flying balls some dont like those cause they are more like rollers.
If you have a small photon torpedo as a "in" wep would make alot happpy.
Hmm.. yah, i hear that from a lot of new players.
"Wheres the Nukes!"
"Wheres the Funky-bomb!"
Must be something that is being taught to them in the beginner servers,
they don't know how to kill unless there's a Nuke or Funky on hand..
i'll create some small shots for an infinate weapon and set the
baby boomers as a Roller weapon to compliment the Napalm
weapon i recently added.
However with the Crippling of the Lasers with that shield mess-up,
i'm still stuck trying to find some balance..
There is a funky bomb type bomb. Its the um, the one that looked like a walnut. Its a yellow ball, arg. And as for the nukes, just use the 2 shot photon thing. Spent a bit of time tonight playing with thrax (and not losing constantly!) and man... I love me some lasers
I was thinking acualy, I think the people that aren't liking the diffrent typr of weapons in scorchedwars may not be taking the time to find weapons they like or something. There are lots of weapons that realy just need to be shot a few times to understand how they work. Some of the diffrent laser type direct fire weapons dont acualy go through the ground but are a series of projectiles or something. Some lasers have a limited range. Things like that. I think alot more information could be added to the descriptions (I've thought that for alot of mods acualy).
In general do most people like a large in depth description of weapons or a short and sweet version? Would it be worth having the last line of each weapon description list like, range/max damnage/misc info or something? I also realize things like that are mostly left till the end of the mod making process, and playing scorchedwars for awile I tend to forget its a fairly beta version so far :)
I've heard a few people put off by the huge map size too, but the key to this mod is movement and the shortcoming of shot position based teleporting and people/bots shooting massive lasers at you. Thats one of my personal favorite parts of the whole mod.
