1) Unix systems were not converting CTRL LF characters correctly. This meant they wrongly checksumed the files and started to download files they didn't need to. Luckily this was only the text files and should not take long.
Unix people, you can get around this by running dos2unix on all the .txt and .xml files.
2) People downloading mod files are kicked/crashed when the server changed map or a new round started.
I've fixed both of these in CVS. But the best solution for the moment is to remove the CTRL LF characters from the mods text files (.txt and .xml). You can do this by loading the mod into a server on windows and then connecting with a client without the mod. The mod that client downloads should be without the CTRL LF characters.

Okay, I have done as you said and I deleted the ShockMod completely off my laptop and then I connected to the server and let it upload a complete fresh copy of the mod. I zipped it up and sent it to M.O. to test and it does indeed work. He connected to the server after the first try with no problems. So hopefully we can put this whole linux issue behind us and move onward..
So, for any of you who want to play the mod using Linux, download and install this fixed version of the ShockMod and you should be good to go.

Your link gives an 404 again, i cant find the file. I just deleted the mod and downloaded it from the server (well, it sucked because i had to reconnect 30 times), but at least now its working

and im glad to report that it seems all of the bugs for linux are
fixed.
I am going to be updating shockmod once a month for all those who
would like to see changes in any way please post them in this post
and and I will do all I can to accomidate your wishes.
note: nothing is set in stone and both myself, and robert are catering
towards the players "not ourselves" we want everyone to enjoy
apoc & shockmod so your input, suggestions, & requests are always
welcome.
on another note:
it seems we have a new moder in town R@ptor has started making
his own mod and I have to say I was a bit suprised to see all the neat
new weapons and textures.
we all look forward to seeing how it turns out great job R@ptor!!

Though it was a nice looking weapon, it rarely hit any targets because
when it was made it was set to be a freefall Random weapon.
This weapon now has a higher hit percent and the size of the explosions
were also changed to a larger size so now you will indeed get a better
chance of hiting your target. thank you Arthur for your request .
This weapon was not working the way I intended
the grim reaper looked scary but rarely hit targets and the wind seemed
to carry it randomly all over the map killing only dirt, and the sound
of the evil laugh is indeed too loud and that will be updated soon as well.
Now he has a deadlier hit percent ratio to any player (including yourself)
so its better to shoot him at long distances "away" from your tank as he
now multiplies and hunts for any nearby targets.
There were alot of un needed secondarys in this weapon and now when
the rollers explose they only shock within a small radious
also the lightning volts look has been updated to look better.

I recently made a very funny weapon to add some laughs
it is called: Kamikaze
I made a word war II Japanese Zero plane porojectile
with a torpedo attached to its belly side
Description:
the weapon fires as 1 zero and then is hit by flak in the sky
the next thing you see is a entire pack of Kamikaze planes
dropping out of the clouds and plummiting into nearby tanks
with the very realistic sounds used (or) edited sounds used
from the game Warbirds 2004 it is a very fun weapon to watch
i recently met arthur(i think he loves your mod) while playing and yes we both came to the conclussion that the prize of your "Grenades" is maybe too cheap for such a good weapon. or at least you could give that grende a little bouncy behaviour - so make it more diffciult to use.
those kamikaze screens are awesome keep up the good work

i am glad you enjoy it and on the matter of the grenade it has
been reduced to less of a projectile spread not much but there is
a less kill average in it now.
I may add bobirovs idea in his fragment grenade and add bounce
but that wont be changed until you see Kamikazi =)

well after many changes and suggestions along with an altered
version of raptors lovely machine gun I have completed shockmod v1.1
and I am happy to announce the latest changes in this release =)

Grenade was changed and now bounces 2 times and releases 40
projectiles that are not as Powerful/accurate as before.

now use a red explosion texture as it did in version 37.2
