When I'm using widescreen resolution it seems that the main menu controls overlap each other such as the tutorial box and the chat box.

It seems like the game isn't trying to work around such issues automaticlly, so what should I do?

I'm trying to run it on a laptop at 1366x768 and a pc att 1920x1080.

HI and welcome, i play on a laptop @ 1600 x 900.
Go to the "settings" and for this res I use "small" for the dialog/font sizes.

Play around with that setting and see if it straightenes things out for you.
Three old guys are out walking. First one says, 'Windy, isn't it?'
Second one says, 'No, it's Thursday!'
Third one says, 'So am I. Let's go get a beer.'

The text option needs to be small or tiny, had this problem when v43 came out. That fixed my resolution/menu problem.. but it may be something different for you.

Post back with your findings :)

That did it, setting to small reduced the overlap to a bearable amount, it still overlaps but it's better so I can now play the game. Tiny although having no overlap is way to small.

Maybe having a dialog/font size setting that will fit perfectly in 16:9 and 16:10 aspect ratios seems like a good idea for a future version.

ive always thought one of the beauties of s3d is its light weight and minimal reliance on any kind of hud. ive nearly always played in a 4:3 window. it's the kind of game i can play while i work, take a call, skip a turn, have a quick go while i wait for a video to encode.

so few games are like that. it's awesome - basically a chat room with cool explosions. 1024x768 is just about perfect, ive found. trim the aa and the computer doesnt even notice it's running.

try playing in a window.
