My speakers make a fuzzy background noise when I play S3D, not when loading maps though. I never noticed it before, but now I have its really annoying. I have good speakers, I tested them with other games and music.. its just scorched that makes the fuzzy sound.

I have 8 sound channels on, no music on, sound volume about 3/5 way up, ambient about 1/5, and music two fifths.

will test with less sound channels to make sure i dont have it too high.

ok checked the channels, its a no go. They didnt help abit. No sound option on didnt help either.

I can describe it as a really tiny saw whirring sound, very fuzzy.
it plays during the main menu screen aswell, its a constant buzz.

Recently this has become even louder, I checked my speakers and even swapped them out for new ones... its still there

what bgm file used.
is it repeating the nul.wav like a pulsing or vibrating.

no mod, just right when I start up scorched 3d, its the main menu after the landscape loads. Sometimes it does it in the mods too..

Uninstall then re-install the sound driver.

Had it a couple of times and known it on other machines many times.
Usually sound driver....

USUALLY (it clearly won't be for you as you're just getting old and finding out how annoying it is to start getting old)
