Hello,

I've been using Ubuntu for a few weeks now, and this is the first time I've had to deal with rpm packages. I used alien to convert it to a deb and install it. The game does not show up under my application>games.

Originally, I installed it with the application getter, but that installed an older version of the game. Everything ran with that.

Now that I've installed the updated version, how to I go about launching it? I've tried typing scorched3d in the terminal, and I've look at the folder its installs to, but I don't see anything to do.

I've searched around the net and this site, and I can't find anybody having my specific problem. Any help?

You need to create a new shortcut on the desktop and add this.
Name:Scorched3d
Command:/usr/bin/scorched3d
For icon: /usr/share/scorched3d/data/windows/tank2.bmp
You click the icon on the right to change it

If that does not work post back.

I am right clicking, create launcher. Then putting /usr/bin/scorched3d as the command and scorched3d as the name. It's not working.

from a terminal try:
/usr/bin/scorched3d
/usr/bin/scorched3dc

If those dont work try:
/usr/local/games/scorched3d/bin/scorched3d
/usr/local/games/scorched3d/bin/scorched3dc

Try to download the .deb file on GetDeb page.Must be ver 42.
They are 2 files, scorched 3d and scorched 3d-data.
before installing uninstall the older pack
install the last one first with gdebi installer.(double click on the package icon)if send an error of dependency fix the pack with synaptic.
installed scorched data, install the restant file.
