Im a bit of a linux newb and cant find the settings screen in v41.
Im using mandriva 2008 and used the v41 rpm package.

I am launching scorched with run and scorched3dc, but thats launching straight into the game, bypassing the inital screen that comes with the windows install which let me access settings.

any help would be greatly appreciated as my frame rate is a little too slow for precise shot adjustment...

There are three binaries: scorched3d -- the launcher, scorched3dc -- the client; and scorched3ds -- the server. You're looking for scorched3d, not scorched3dc.

I thought it was something simple like that, so I tried it last night and just tried again now, but nothing is happening with them, only scorched3dc works, the others do nothing!

Do you get any error messages if you try to launch scorched3d from a terminal?

mandriva comes with wxwidgets 2.8; the current version has been compiled with dynamic linking, wx2.8 dropped 2.4 support; result is incompatibility

so scorched3d won't run on your pc youless you compile it from sources & apply the edit i posted here

scorched3ds is the server, it seems that it doesn't work, but it requires special command lines params to work properly (or either use the scorched3d frontend to set it :P )

about openGL compilation errors, this command should solve them:

Quote:
urpmi mesa-source libmesagl-devel libglew-devel libglut-devel libglu-devel
