Yus I am almost emberassed of the reaction of the helicopter pilots except that they asked for a conformation before shooting. They were afraid for their comrades, friends, fellow soldiers and for good reason. It appeared from their vantage point there were weapons and a gathering that could potentially do harm to them, their fellow soldiers or the war they were fighting.

The part where they attacked the van as they picked up bodies probably not the best idea this is what, one incident in hundreds of thousands of incidents that happened in this war? I can not disagree with the soldier that said "that is their fault for bringing their children to a battle zone" why in the world would you do that?

They should have never engaged with the mini van picking up the wounded however they were reacting emtionally and made mistakes.

I hope and pray for you that your country never calls you to duty to go to war, I don't think you would survive. I don't mean any ill will towards you I just notice that most that protest, bitch about war on this forum are folks that would not make it one day in battle let alone be willing to die for a beliefe it seems the only belief you are willing to fight for is the belief in peace which is a dilluted belief in reality.

Odd how it is considered ok to critisize the USA on the fact that they took the kids to a local hospital instead of the aid of the USA when if this child were injured by an IED not even an eyebrow would have been raised if they were taken to a local hospital.

How many of their own have they killled? How many of their own are better off now that we have intervened? How long will the questioning of our tactics will be allowed before you all wake up?

You war protestors peace loving blind chanters of wrong doing praised Obama and begged for him to take over America and rid us of our wrong doings. Ummm he went to war too. Grow a pair realise that this will never be a peaceful world and choose a side. This bull crap of I'm neutral and hope that the war will end, any war, is getting old. Someone died so you could say that. Someone mistakenly killed someone for you to have rights.

You can live in your protected world for a while but as LapTop said and I can't quote him word for word but you can do whatever you want as long as you do what your told.

I for one will not!

A sane man in his complete senses would not have fired.

But here, we are talking of soldiers who are trained physically and psychologically to kill. They are taught to consider something as killing a trivial chore. Hence, it would be hopeless to question their sanity. But here, as you miss out pom, its not the sanitiy of the soldiers iam questioning, it is of those who sit back home in their air conditioned offices declaring to go to war.

Battlezone? whos war is it? The iraqies dint invite americans for a war party. I suspect you are in your right mind to distinguish insurgents from civilians. Is it a crime to help someone whos dieing on the road? I guess the poor man with the children wasnt in his right mind to go out and help the ones suffering. He probably should have thought about his children, stayed like a responsible father and creeped off the area. He should have kept his moral instincts aside.

Not sure i understand you.

If this will remain a peaceful world or not is arguable. But for the moment, its sad but true that violence and war are very real.

I would fight the people whod point a gun at me or my family. I would even kill him in the fight. On a larger scale, iam not against armed violence as long as its for self defence.

However obamas case is different. Lets not even go into that part. You have no argument, you have no chance of justifing a completely unjust and one sided war hes waging.

Anyway if you really want to learn something and not form quick judgement of things, and not be clouded by mindless propaganda you get on your television, watch this episode of democracy now for the full details.

Damn, that video was hard to watch.

But I am not going to judge them because I do not know what they have been through in the past. Anyone can take a stand alone incident and pick it apart. Maybe situations like this ended differently in the past. Maybe the soldiers wanted to take no chances. I'm not there, I don't know.

I will say that I did find it a bit sad at how desensitized the pilots were. But again, i'm not there and it can't be easy for anyone. You do what you have to do to survive.

Try not to forget everyone that the "reporters" were profiting from the war.

None of you seem to be discussing why this video is, in my opinion, so controversial. The fact that an effort was deliberately made to cover it up.

If it's "covered up" why is it now public. We are hiding nothing but there is a reasonable amount of time that things like this should be "hidden". It is a war you know.

Its a "leak" pom dont be as rediculous as the pilots.

Whatever you said so far, its very disagreeable. Believe me, things like these happen in india and many other countries too.

Iam disgusted if US does it, iam disgusted if India does it, iam disgusted likewise, if any other state does it. I dont look for "hints" or "pieces" for disproving or justifing such acts.

Maybe they felt mistakes were made and did not want to show them. Maybe they thought a video like that would outrage the natives and they were trying to prevent that.

You do realize that this is not the first time pilots mis identify targets on the ground, right?

This is not word for word but I like it. I forget who said it but i agree with it.

1. Mind our own Biz
2. The enemy of my enemy is NOT my friend
3. Nothing is in our interests w/o values and principles
4. Dont screw w/us
5. When we fight, we fight to WIN
6. COME HOME-NO nation building or UN bulding

"George Washington wanted us to be like Switzerland."

"Out of Germany.
Out of Korea.
Out of Japan."

"I'm tired of being the world's policemen, and the world's loiterers"

"Republicans want to nation build, while the Dems want to do it through the UN"

"I don't want a global government or a global military."

There you have it. There was probably more, I just can't remember it all.
Be silent or let thy words be worth more than silence.
