course i'm, fine with my pos laptop. actually does pretty well since the game got cleaned up. Think AW and others had somethin' to do with that.

Thinking of upgrading my graphics card soon, been looking at nvidia cards. Thing is i dont know much about the newer gfx cards.
Essentially I want to run battlefield 3 on its best settings, as it seems to be the most intensive game I own at the moment.
Can anyone point me in the right direction? Struggling abit here with all the information on graphics cards, so many on the market at the moment im abit overwhelmed.

Once my hangover passes properly I'll check that CPU will work in that board.
NVIDIA GPUs work best for BF3, but high setting aren't MUCH better than medium, I run medium, mate runs highest (brand new VERY good computer) and the difference is negligable.

I think i have settled on this one for now. The design is nice, and the price is fair. Its got great reviews. I dont see any compatibility issues with my current setup, but I could be wrong. Anything send up a red flag to anyone?
Be buying this very soon if I recieve some positive input on this. very excited and done alot of homework to find this baby.

Its been marked up for release, theyre selling it locally here at US $350 (660ti) I work at best buy and had a chance to buy it early. Also the memory clock has been crippled on that card, same price as the thrice cooled 7950. Im looking to spend around that much anyway as I would like this card to last atleast till bf4.
I realize i wont be using the full potential of the card since im still a 2.0 pci slot, but i really like the 7950 atm. Ill keep an eye out though.
The card is overkill, but i suppose I could upgrade to hd gaming in the future.

Don't worry about not using full potential, current cards (other than the dual GPU boards) don't use the full 16 lanes of bandwidth of PCI-E 2, even the dual boards don't usually suffer in 8 pci-e 2 lanes, just a couple of benchmarks show a reduction. PCI-E 3 is for upcoming graphics and RIAD boards.

Had been eyeing it all this week in our warehouse. It seemed like a good fit. I basically couldnt say no to the 50 bucks off with my employee discount.
Youve never steered me wrong before that I know of, and the bang for the buck is satisfactory. I applaud you chap.

I keep trying to uninstall the AMD engine control center, causes windows 7 not to boot. Cant find anything online. I simply go to system and uninstall it via its change option. Uninstalls fine. Then asks to restart. This is where the problem begins. System wont boot, asks to restore to previous point, reinstalls amd vision control center.
How do i get this damn vision control center off of my pc. Switching to nvidia wether ati likes it or not.

It's cos you're running an AMD mobo and the storage driver is part of CCC
