Such situations were always an essential part of the game. Someone is unable to reach someone, and that has its impact, sometimes crucial, on the game course.
For one to correct such situations, there are fuel and teleporters. As well as some specific weapons can lengthen the hitting distance.
Our match with Veggies, due to the problems one of their members had with connection, does not seem a fair match to me. Although such is not determined by the rules of the tournament, I suggest you that we as a noble team, acting on a free will, appeal to the tournament administration for the results of our match with Veggies to be cancelled and eventually re-match to be taken.
Taking account of most other teams “speed” in organizing matches, such decision if being taken, wont slow down the tournament, and also we will get another, hopefully challenging and interesting game to play.
Your opinions on this suggestion, Teammates.
This is my friends’ dog, irish terier Jinny. I am taking care of her while they are traveling. She has very nice personality and friendly with absolutely everyone, including cats.
PLEASE, ALL PLAYERS WHO HAVE SIGNED IN FOR THE TOURNAMENT! GET MORE ACTIVE WITH COMMUNICATION WITH EACH OTHER, AND TRY TO GET FLEXIBLE WITH YOUR REAL LIFE BUSINESS WHATEVER YOU HAVE TO ARRANGE AND PLAY MATCHES THE TOURNEY REQUIRES. EVERYONE ELSE HERE IS WAITING FOR YOU AND FOR THINGS TO CONTINUE!
MAY THE HEAVENS CRY WITH COUNTLESS NUKES FALLING UPON THEE!!!

Very nice reply indeed CC!

If it’s a tradeoff between security and convenience, err on the side of security. Don’t let your browser store banking/PayPal/Ebay passwords, for instance. I’m paranoid enough to recommend having a separate computer that’s used ONLY for financial purposes and NOTHING ELSE WHATSOEVER – no email or general web surfing.
Even if you are paranoid there is no need to go as far as having a separate computer. You can just have a bootable linux system like Puppy Linux on a flash drive for these purposes. And of course never keep passwords even there – human factor is the main threat.
DB, if your problem is not yet solved, you can try this: http://www.freedrweb.com/livecd
It is a free antivirus that works from a bootable drive, based on linux – so it is not at all affected by the malware currently blocking your attempts in Windows. You’ll have to burn it to a disk first, of course.
If you are interested in having things this way I suggest you VirtualBox software for virtual machine and Puppy Linux OS – find them in the first lines of google search. Both are free. I don’t think installing this whole thing will take you more then 15-20 minutes, so you can give it a try at least. You may need to set linux file system to FAT32 during installation to make it compatible with windows.
Why do you antagonise my posting so much? I admitted I was too emotional the other post, but I apologized. I am getting frustrated seeing you getting so much negative from what I say. Please, try to change your mind.
One of the reasons to have this posted is to make people aware. You’ve said it:
This tournament might not be great, however, it’s mean’t to be a bit of fun, win or lose, can still have a laugh and bring people closer together.
I know I would be upset to lose LIKE THAT. Top players do not lose like that often you know. Veggies took the strike, now, may it be for the other’s sake at least?
If we keep silent about what happens and why, then every new game if going the same course will result in some people being very upset. Now people can know that things may come this way and just be aware its not much of their fault. People won’t feel much negative if it happens. Isn’t that good?
Also, it gives a chance for people to think carefully of a counter tactics in advance. (As for me, excessive use of fuel is the only that comes into my mind that might work.) Isn’t that good too?
In fact, it is as much good as you are right in your point that it can be dealt with. We are letting people learn from other’s experience, thats what its called.

Personally, I expected and intended to dominate. It wasn’t an accident.
Its a bad player who doesn’t intend to win. The point I bring up is the results difference.
What advantage do you see for the resurrected player except an occasional terrain-lucky spot?
You’re saying changes should be implimented now or that the tournament should now be postponed until the tweaks can be made
😯 Excuse me? Where am I saying that or even anything remotely alike? 🙄
Relax mate! Dont let the emotions or summer heat take over your mind! We don’t want you to start seeing things and consequently be put into some establishment 😆
Why do you keep looking into past? Nothing is being said for blame, everything is said for the future.
Sorry but I can’t see how that I couldn’t be here earlier to help you is against providing my feedback now.
Should we write off to the organisors of the 100m sprint race and say it’s unfair if one person gets a cracking start, they should slow down in the middle to let everyone else catch up to make it fair? NO, he got a good start and deserves the lead!
That is the point of things lasting some time – one runner can make a better start, another one can make the best in the middle part, the third is at his peak in the end. The situation can change.
You know the lines they draw in math, let the vertical line be value and the horizontal – time; the race is a type that may go up and down somewhat but is limited vertically. The scorched game is rather the one that climbs up steep and the farther it goes the higher it climbs with each equal period of time. Some difference by nature, there is.
I support both the suggestion and naka’s ideas. Only, i don’t think separate spectators seats are required in particular on main.
It might be a good idea to add a spec channel to the channel list (not available right now) so you could block that channel for specs until they loaded. Or it only kept them in the spec list if they don’t join the game when they are loading.
It may just result in people being distracted even more not understanding what others are talking about…July 20, 2009 at 4:51 am in reply to: Score list doesn’t show full names and some other issues #57043
Having just looked at my screenshot…the word “balance” is misspelled, it must be with one L.
Also, when you join a game it gives you information about the game forums – scorched3d.co.uk/phpBB2 while its phpBB3 for some long time already.July 17, 2009 at 10:40 pm in reply to: Score list doesn’t show full names and some other issues #57042
Names is limited to (I THINK) 12 caracters.
Hence anyone with <= 12 will display fine.
Doesn’t make much sense since these names are displayed properly for the very tanks in game, as well as in all killed-died-chat messages and stats. And the one that is my own is displayed right even though its long.
I know the names’ length is limited (definitely more then 12) but there was never anything wrong with name as long as it was entered.
I have not been kicked enough to figure completely how it works, so could you please provide us with a guide “How to do things not to get kicked”.
This is important for the spectators. Also is it gonna be protected somehow from spectator interfering the game by mistake?
I think we need to reserve the spectating seats for the matches. Some matches might attract more people than server can handle.
Also, do players get a profit from selling the seats? I believe that in particular the match of my team vs veggies gonna be a major highlight so we can make a fortune on tickets.
Yes, can we have a totalizator also?
Clearly you havn’t played this series otherwise you’d be aware that a standard roller will kill a fully healthy tank protected by a full force shield.
This used to be. If you make the balls to the bubble. Even more specific than in case of heavy rollers and hot napalm.
So, what you’re saying is that a poor team vs a good team should have a chance
All my examples refer to EQUAL teams or EQUAL players. I think additional lives is a thing that should be giving a CHANCE. Otherwise, you can just make (score&money)x3 – will save time at least.
The resurrection I would prefer to place tanks further away, but that’s how scorched does it, however, you’re showing a HUGE bias towards being a complete newb.
If you resurrect near the spot you died, you have minimal change to make aswell.
Say your first shot was off the mark and you die, the second shot can still use the first shot as a marker.
I did not clearly understand the first sentence of this quote (probably my poor english), but I, indeed, feel like I am trying to show something towards a complete newb… 😕
the majority of people have voted to keep the strike ‘as is’
Well, atm this isn’t telling me anything, since there are only 10 voters.
I apologize if anything insulted you, please don’t be taking things too personal. I do appreciate your work for this tournament, as a participant I just want it to be really interesting with no one feeling things going unfair.
