Ever looked at some of the work that google summer of code has accomplished?

Going to check this out…Thanks for the heads up~ Ok, I Googled “Summer Of Code”.

    >Snipped/clipped< Since its inception in 2005, the program has brought together nearly 2500 successful student participants and 2500 mentors from 98 countries worldwide, all for the love of code. Through Google Summer of Code, accepted student applicants are paired with a mentor or mentors from the participating projects, thus gaining exposure to real-world software development scenarios and the opportunity for employment in areas related to their academic pursuits. In turn, the participating projects are able to more easily identify and bring in new developers. Best of all, more source code is created and released for the use and benefit of all.

    Opinion~Pretty awesome opportunity for students.

The End of an Era~ AMD To Phase Out ATI Brand

    Link ➡ http://www.osnews.com/story/23745/AMD_To_Phase_Out_ATI_Brand

Sad-Abit went by the wayside also for M/B a while back…… BTW My Abit x38 GT board is still up & running & I’m still Overclocked daily on my Q6600 quad cpu (Stock=2.4/OC’d steadily @ 3.2Ghz)-Ram running @ 1033mhz…I’ve pushed the cpu in the past-The best I can get before a blue screen is 3.8Ghz. I have held 3.9Ghz……but, only for about 15 seconds-Then she blipped 😀 (My CPU temp is running @ 93-95 degrees F. & Human Body temp is 98.6 F.)

Selling out=Cheap prices-Just because they/companies cannot make it financially does not mean their products are junk-Watch for great sales prices & snatch up an upgrade that you have been wanting. 😉

    Web rumors~
I have read, Microsoft & Google are getting more into Linux type apps and such.
I am kinda worried about hidden code + back doors in apps now, promoted by them, solely to benefit these two Companies-What is the general users outlook/fear on this topic?

Pertinent post From Laptop. Very insightful and as the Brits say: “Spot On”.

My words: Just a few keystrokes made in haste can sometimes cause friends to become foes. There is some sort of permanence in a word or series of words that mingle/taunt with discontent, fray of character, or inadequacies found in others.

I brought->Copy/Pasted this from Gavins thread. (Not wanting to appear to be chatting with myself 😳

I nominate Naka in the running for “Server Admin”

My Apologies to Naka- (I some how overlooked you 😥 )

Naka-A long standing opinionated/sometimes gritty/Honest voice in this community concerning the game and its attributes/short comings. Apache/Long Bow-Also falls into this category in my mind(More Morality based)-Not a bad thing; We need both sides of a coin. I would vote for both of them-Even though I do not always agree with them-That is the beauty of a diverse forum membership/community.

Sometimes we have to give up a little of ourselves to benefit the sum of the whole involved.

Moved to pertinent Thread noted in Topic as directed above~Phwew, simplicity confuses me =P~

Kanga-I did not mean to seem to bait you into this off topic Thread post . But, since we ended up posting here-This shows the power that a Moderator/individual can hold. . . . .Big Bear is a most excellent Moderator in my opinion. Also, We should moderate ourselves with caution & due course.

I have mentioned the chat box idea a few times(in private)-The management is working on a solution to this idea atm. Also, You are right Chopper Ol’ Pal. I was just putting my 2 cents worth into the mix. If nothing else…. have a commemorative/dedicated section of the forum for players that have played for a sustained period of time/years here in Scorched3d. Their contributions etc….
Hey-That might give Rommel something to do with his thinking, typing, sorting skills 🙂
