Just tried on the same netbook as above but using linux (as mentioned above).
No, you will not want to play on a netbook, the screen is simply too small, your perspective for aiming will be SO screwed that you just won’t enjoy it.
Unless you ARE using an aimbot (ya bastage) it’ll completely suck.

Had to run with fastest settings and fullscreen @ 720×400, it was smooth enough, but on that screen it’s just wrong.

You’d also need a mouse probably, I know a few regs here use laptops and the touch pad, but if you’re used to a mouse and will usually use a mouse, the touch pad will be annoying and youo just wouldn’t get used to it.

For actual net use, these things are brilliant, but for gaming, I’d have to say no, unless you wanna lose skill point after skill point dying to retards like Richie

Ok, I don’t have the time to get into doing this right now. But I’m happy to have a look at some point. Although I can’t say when.

As for the user interface, Foe easy use, how about a slide bar,… when its far left its in safe mode. When far right everything is on. The bar can bee colour coded as well.

When the slider is moved it turns on the different graphical options in the back ground. When you clink on the custom (might be better names advanced) you get what you have now.

You could even put marks on the scale for safe, recommended for slow computers, recommended for fast computers, and best. Clinking on these text marks would jump the slider to there position.

You could then colour code the advanced options as you were talking about and it would help the transition form beginner to advanced user to be more intuative.

So starts very simple and goes very advanced with a guided tour…

    What do you guys think?

Like I say I can’t get involved right now… but will in time.

One step closer towards ppls utter contempt and disbelief in politicians ability to steer the world (or even their own country for that matter) towards being a better place? A soap opera where the shallow surface is everything and ability and intentions mean nothing?

Yeah may be… but I think people would laugh more… The world would be just that little bit silliyer…

I think somethimes all the issues addressed here, they need to be looked at a little light hartedly. But I do think it’s pretty cool people like bush get to play scorched earth for real! =)

Don’t suspect Linux users of cheating, coz they pride themselves on using an alternate OS, without really knowing it.
All they do is download packages, coding is far beyond them.
They are the most pathetic crowd I’ve ever seen.
They try to hate Microsoft while copying windows as best as they can Very Happy
There’s MS for casual users and there are Unixes for Pros, who needs Linux ?

Sorry, i’ve tried to resist the troll, but the need to feed has gotten the better of me =(

    WTF?!?!

linux copies windows? I think you have that the wrong way around.
Can’t code? Humm…. just don’t know how to respond to that!
the need for linux is so that you can run it on a standard pc architecture.
why would I insatll form source source when a package will take the hassle away. Does not mean I can not do it!
Free BSD yeah nice, very much like linux… but not as much support.

I think you use windows don’t you? Come on admit it…. we wont laugh at you…

think about it p-nut, what richie is saying is: let’s play a game where I can have 2 shots for every 1 shot you take, putting aside any cost debate.

I think you miss understand…. everyone would be able to buy them, not just me!
Also you would only have one shot that did any damage and you still have to have the skill to adjust your shot correctly.

I would just like to see tracers as something worth buying. The point of the is to be able to aim better, but they do not do that at the moment, as yo9u may as well use a baby missile and save some money, and you might have got it right the first time.

Okay… so would people like it better if, you culd fire as many tracers in the time allowed, but you could not fire a weapon until the next turn?

I had windows xp on the test machine, the new one ray gave me is 1.5G processor 512M ram, so i’m using that, but no hard drive came with it. Therefore used the other one form the crap test machine + 20gig i took out when you were here.

Had to re-formatm and don’t have an xp install disk, therefore put server 2003 and kubuntu mce on the other…. but tested the hack on my main machine as the graphics card has no drivers untill i work out what it is and bother to download…

My new mouse is cool, old one crap….

    Yes… Microsoft… humm…..

    Laptops Daddy – huh?

format an spare ext3 partition to ntfs, install windows, re-install grub, job done… Grub then acts as a chain loader as well as a boot loader. I’m no windows expert!! and yes insulted!!! =)

    Hello,

I’ve been reading the thred with interest. I am wondering who here has actually downloaded the hack to verify what the txt file says, and to make sure the the hack works?

well I have. My findings, the txt file does say what BR posted… but the hack did not work!

why did I do this. Before commenting I wanted to see what all this is about.

This is my garentee that if it did work I would not use it..

    1) I’m a linux user. I had to install windows on a free partition, something I hate doing. I refuse to have Microsoft code on my box. It is now gone. If I ever get accused of using the hack, that did not work, I’ll be more upset about being accused of using windows than anything else so don’t do it!

    2) You’ve seen me play right?

May be it is because I was using windows server 2003, may be I didn’t do it right, but it did not work… so I’m assuming it is all a hoax to start a tread like this!

Please, anyone who admitts to trying it, please do not shoot them down for it, so long as they don’t play with it, if they got it to work. I’m just intrested in the number of people who have and if it really works. If no one has had it working…. well that the answer to this whole thing.

    Thanks.
