Okay folks, have no fear. I bought the game and brought it to home. I just arrived, so I could not test it yet, but I’ve already found two funny things about the cover and the CD. Promising start…
– As I told you, there is no relation to Gavin or anything about the Scorched3D website (of course there is no such thing – the dear customer would discover that he was cheated out of money)
– A sticker blocks the CD case opening, with “ORIGINAL SOFTWARE” written on it.
Please let me laugh out loudly! 😀
– The CD looks pitiful.
(the small yellow framed text says: “Search our download section at http://www.pc.cd“)
PeanutsRevenge: There are ABSOLUTELY no booklets for the CD. I even looked the flipside of the cover – absolutely nothing. Whoever sells this game for money is a real dickhat.
Everything you say it’s true, but as I said, there is absolutely no mentioning of Gavin Camp, anything about how to update, or such. I’m not over-reacting it or such, I just say we can’t afford to dismiss this. If file sharing is considered illegal, this one should be sentenced as well.
Besides, as you said, Gavin REALLY deserves some flowers for his work, don’t you agree? 😀
Oh, and bazzzz shall receive one of these Scorched3D disks from me REAL soon. I’ll grab some money at next Monday, so I can happily buy the stolen Scorched3D…doomsday is coming! 😆
Just give me a week, I shall buy that stolen Scorched3D (at the moment I’m really low on money 🙁 )
Its price is around 2,5 euro, so not too big, but it’s still money. And profiting from someone else’s work is still illegal.
Trust me, prosecuting will work. If the lawyers were anxious about the file sharing systems (you know, the illegal MP3 downloads) and the “warez” sites, they’ll love this one. And Gavin has all the proofs that he could win this match. He made this game from the very first version of Scorched3D.
But it’s also extremely easy to decide who made this game. It’s clear that whoever made Scorched3D is capable to produce an update for it. The stealing asslickers would fail at this one.
OK OK folks, I’ll buy a copy and see what’s that software on it. After I saw there is absolutely no mentioning of Gavin Camp or the Scorched3D website, I don’t expect any good. But I’ll do it to see what’s that stuff made of. I wouldn’t be surprised if Gavin’s name would be erased out from the game/helpfile too.
(I still say stealing someone else’s work is theft and illegal)
OK folks, by popular demand, I made more photos of the Scorched3D CD’s backside, looking for traces and clues. First of all, it’s packed along with another game, so the CD is actually 2 game in one (the other game is some bshit I don’t care about).
The first image is a short overview about the game, which is described well. There are two screenie-shotties as well, you might witness that.
The second image shows (partially) a license and copyright (!!!!) notice, like counterfeiting and copying the CD is illegal and forbidden (haha, somehow this did not bother our little friends). And, there is the dealer of this product: Woodstone Interactive. And it’s address.
No trace of mentioning Gavin Camp, telling anything about the origin of the program is found inside or outside of the CD cover. They elegantly “forgot” to write Gavin Camp’s name on it. Also there is no website relation, technical support address, update website written on the CD cover. Like if this game would not be related to Gavin Camp at all.
So there is the address of this stealing company. Perhaps Gavin could write a nice little letter to them about what are they doing wit’ HIS game. He could teach them some manners, no? 🙂
I just pointed on that selling a game which they don’t own the slightest copyright (and the author doesn’t know about this) is against the law. And that’s all. What Gavin will do is up on him. I just say this is damn not right…
Look fellas, this work is entirely from Gavin. No assholes can steal and sell HIS game without even mentioning this to him. When they’ve obtained the game to burn it to those CDs, they must have seen Gavin Camp’s contact address too. So, if Gavin did not receive a letter or anythin’ about this action of theirs, then it was because they didn’t want Gavin to know about this.
It’s like copying someone’s song, and sell it as your own. Stealing.
Moreover, the sells keeps going, and the author – Gavin – did not receive a penny from the sells.
And last but not least: Selling a FREE computer game is just plain nasty.
So Gavin has quite a few reasons to do some prosecution.
Of course, that’s another problem. I’ll take a look at the version t’morrow.
But the emphasis on this happening is that someone dared to steal Gavin Camp’s hard work and make profit for himself! That’s just nasty! I would persecute the shit off this guy if I were on Gavin’s shoes. That’s just friggin’ not good! 👿 👿
Answer: Because he wants the cancer to kill him before an opponent do, so he smokes tons of cigarettes quickly, that’s the big smoke. If the cancer kills him, no point to opponent 😛
How can mounted turret guns move? They have no wheels!
Heck,no, I always try to consume my canned beans at lunch, so I have no gas when I go to our squadron’s public bathroom. It’s a real fog in there when all my squadmates turn the hot water on, the poor poop would feel itself lost in the fog and this’ll make it depressed. And I care about my belongings, this intelligence regards to my poops also 🙂
Why the BOTs sometimes call for their mommy when you shoot’em out?
Yeah,I’m working on a modification of the original Wolf3D. All 60 levels, quite a hard work. I tried it since 1999, but my hard drive also went sh_t, and I lost all my progress (I saved GAMEMAPS.WL6, but when I copied it back, Wolf3D displayed the following error message: Map not 64*64)
So once again,I started all over. I know,Wolfenstein 3D is quite an old game (it was the very first FPS), but it’s still fun, and game editing is much easier than Doom 3 🙂
A masterpiece! You did a great job,man! I’m impressed again 🙂 Great movies, a lunatic 🙂
I’m away for a while from Scorched3D, working on a Wolfenstein 3D project…but I’ll come back soon for your SOULS!
(especially for Lipton’s and Sondra’s)
Haw haw haw 😈
Enjoy a little rest 🙂
God DAMN it, SoulNazi, you did an excellent job with the video! I guess you had a ton of work with it, but you’ve really done yourself this time 🙂 We all like it here 🙂
Well, I designed for the official Scorched3D, because it solves so many problems, this could be a great weapon.
I know the Soul Cube is originally from Doom 3,but hell, the foreplanned Teleport is from Worms. I didn’t hear anybody complaining about this 🙂
It might be a passion, but as you can read, a very useful weapon could be constructed. I know it’s a bit foreign among so many missiles, nukes, other warheads, but I think it’s just as foreign as a teleport.
Another one feature: Using the Soul Cube you could forget about these accidental deaths & suicides, like at Rollers, and Funky bombs.
