I suppose I could stop being a cheeky bastard for a while. The series just started, the point system has been tweaked a bit and there’s not much competition for first. It might mess up my beautiful 45% kill ratio but oh well… 😆
“Woot” was a cheer because I won the game, not a cry. You did give me an idea for a good name. NAKED Nutter. Or how about The NAKED Yankee. The NAKED Nutter Yankee. The NAKED Nut or The NAKED Yank sounds a bit obscene though. 😆
I have found nothing wrong with the new version. Everything works fine for me.
Numero Uno over and out. 8)
The thing most appealing, to me, about this game is the stats. It was a thrill to win 41.2(series 2). The way players express themselves through the stats is interesting. As I worked my way through the series I noticed a player would challenge my rank, even overtake me at times. I would push back by playing as many people as I could, so at the end of the day I had the most kills. The challenger and I would play this little cat and mouse game for a week or two. At some point it was clear that the challenger had given up and abandoned the quest for rank 1. It is at this point that I obtain the most satisfaction. There were three or four major challengers in that series. Near the end I got lazy and wasn’t playing very much or checking the stats. If the stats went a week longer, Rodijak would have won for sure. I only won by 42 kills.
I’ve ducked out of many games that I felt was doing more harm than good to my rank. It wasn’t an issue with the kill based system, but it is with the skill based one. I will hold at 7000 points untill I see someone get near, then the challenge is on once again. 😈
Some play to win the battle. Some play to win the war.
You can win a game and still lose skill points.
It’s not cowardice, it’s strategy. If you look at the stats you will see it’s working.
With this new rank system based on skill points being much more fluid, yes, I need to keep the points I have.
So put that in your pipe and smoke it, Mr. Rank 10.
After posting the message I went back and was able to connect.
I know this is off my topic…but since I got you on the line Kanga…(sigh)…no I don’t know how to put the banner as part of my signature. If you could give me a few directions it would be appreciated. I would give you a coupon for one “hog free” game. 🙂
Just to be on the safe side I will not manipulate price any more until Gavin has had his say. And my finger is getting tired from buying selling then rebuying. I have changed the bots behavior, that is enough for now.
Thank you for clearing that up Thrax. The price of heavy rollers has gone down about $1,000 in a day so any price spike would not be to long lived. Good to know this is a known strategy and there won’t be any reprimands. This tactic seems not to be for the next round but for the next game.
I conducted an experiment. I tried to change the behavior of the bot through price manipulation. What does the bot use most often? From what I can tell…napalm. In three games with the bot I raised the price of napalm from $12,710 to $26,400. In the third game the bot seemed to save it’s money and had to wait until the 7th or 8th round to buy napalm. A fun thing to watch unfold.
It would be just my luck that I start jacking up the prices of things so it forces the bot to start hogging me! LOL! A victim of my own design!
Acid, I have not laughed so hard in over a week when I watched that muppet video!
I have a suggestion. There could be put into the hints and tips that are always popping up a tip that says something like “Obscene language can be blocked by clicking ignore and choosing a player”. Something like that would really help new players. Let the muppets have the obscene language! LOL!
There is so much on the forum to read! I have missed out on so much drama while I was gone! Acid, no I was not talking about you. If I remember right recently you told me I would be playing the bot if I used a hog then left the game after I killed you with a BABY hog. That’s not getting bent out of shape buddy, that’s HILARIOUS. I was takling about Vovan, who told me to f%cK off after I hoged him then he left. A few days later we crossed paths again. He went into spectator and started telling me my own stats,LOL! I told him what was on my mind then left, had to go anyway.
To my dear Hyde911, your right! Nothing should be a big deal. This is just my random thoughts,it’s all good, even Vovan cursing, I don’t really care. I can mute him any time I like. If people choose not to play because of hogs so be it.
This is just one NAKED guy talkin’ here. I have always thought admins should not have the power to kick people. The only power they should have, imo, is to mute people. And only after a warning. Cursing over and over is the only thing I can think of that would really disrupt a game, and even then no one has to listen even if an admin is not present. Talking trash is a funny little head game anyway. Seems to me a bunch of people have gotten WAY to sensitive about the small details of the game. People popping in and out, hogs, dirt…all part of ” The mother of all games”. If you can do it,then it’s within the parameters of the game. Everything else is just semantics. If you can disconnect and rob someone of a kill, cool do it. If the majority does not want that to happen then simply change the parameters of the game so you won’t be let back in until the next game. That goes for pretty much anything. If you don’t want people to go somewhere, you don’t just put up a sign, you must put in a fence.
Long story short, all is fair in love and scorched….get some hot coffee and soft jazz going and…..relax and let me hog you….we can look back after years gone by and recall what a wonderful hogging it was as we walk hand in hand with the autumn leaves falling all around us.
