    We have player A, making 5 kills with 10 shots of baby missile and 5 kills with dh. One dh.
    And player B making 10 kills with 30 shots of baby missiles.

    Calculation:

    A (5*10+5*2)/10=6

    B (10*10)/10=10

    And if it took player B 100 shots to make his 10 kills? No matter!

    Player A is noob and player B is veeeeery cool!

    You measure dumb result but not effectiveness which is the skill.

    Yes its not perfect, but then nothing is. Your examples are of course true, but when someone has x000 kills it will show a trend and the situation as in your example is very unlikely to unfairly giving noobs any advantages over experienced players.

    Furthermore its just a “rough n dirty” approximation of how armslevel could identify the skillful player amongst other factors mentioned earlier in this thread.

    Again its true, but then you again missed thats its not “the one and only indicator”. One can nitpick on details and loose the overall picture. Try to imagine a combination of average armslevel and shoots pr kill, does that do some justice. 2 simple stats combined may give a realistic skill approximation. Now if you throw in some others you may get something that works.

    Yet another factor is who player X kills or is killed by, does he meet capable opposition or are noobs his favorite prey.

    Just reread the thread and my concern is that DBs original proposal only rewards the funkers, the later proposals do little to better the situation. If one increases the reward for funkers the game will deteriorate and Sir Funksalot will be the Nr 1.

    Mind you the assigned armslevels(AL) need some modification to reflect the skill in using the different weapons. All rollers are AL 8 and the heavies are really heavy;)

    Hmm – been around when Pipes where there too – unpleasant fella too be sure, but not offensive as such. More the vindictive type I guess and allergic to hogs or get killed by the same person two turns in a row – did both;) – he took it badly.
