rather than punishment, maybe a full kill point should be awarded to the attacking player. isn’t that usually how resigning works? you accept you were gonna die anyway, and award your opponent the kill.
The name resign might not be ideal for the current implementation. By whatever name you call it it needs no further restrictions though. You are talking about the dictionary entry for resigning, not the scorched implementation by that name.
He does have a point. Or we could call the implementation something else. How about “Run in fear”?
I vote against any polls on subject.
Maybe we should make a poll about making a poll, then 😛
Alright, I tried Stone Age. Wasn’t exactly a challenge though… But I can see what fun it would be against better players.

I have a bad habit of storing crap on my desktop. Rough count, 120ish icons and files on this one. And my laptop is 10 times worse. In fact, every computer I use is much the same, and I’m too embarrassed to show you.
It’s much like Jurily’s, but bigger and slightly less pretty.
Really must tidy my desktop.
That’s not clutter, that’s only what I use regularly… well, most of it at least 🙂
My KDE desktop has icons disabled, though.

1. I don’t feel I’m good enough for that yet
2. I tend to go where people are actually playing. Getting beat up by a bot with a weapon I’m not familiar with is just irritating.
You talk about the rich as if they have walked into the game with extra cash, to get lots of cash you must first suffer from having no weapons or defense.
That is a subject we used to discuss until holes in our keyboards…
The point is that potential advantage which winner of first two round gets – in many cases with luck, just got a good placement, mutual kill/neutralizing of opponents – can give him economic benefit for all remaining rounds. Often huge benefit comparing to others playing since first round, not even mentioning those who joined later! Buying shields fuel teleports and heavy stuff while others still have to save money to the limit if they want to catch him up.
Easy. Get rid of the interest and make everything a bit cheaper. (Yes, me again with my stupid ideas that exactly half the players will love, while the other half would hate :P)
Here ya go.
Make everyone call their shot (maybe something like the “a” key) and measure the distance between that and the actual shot. Mix in some kills/hour stat and it’s perfect 😛
You could also add in some bonuses for wind, distance, walls etc.
I’ve made a patch to the scorched 3d windows client.
Could you please download it and give the same console output, thanks.
Thank you, I will be using this from now on.
My target priority is…..
1. The easiest kill! Just like any predator.
Threat plays a role of course. But a small one. I couldn’t care less about rank, leader, or proximity. Whoever I can kill the quickest is my target.
Amen. Especially if I’m likely to die in the first shot (i.e. almost always).
yea, but you need the kills.
I said “I’d shoot her first”, not “I’d shoot her first whenever she’s in trucing range” 🙂
-being able to modify shield strength against certain weapons, so you could make shields which are immune to nukes but can be blown down by a single baby missile
Great idea, man. Bubbles were starting to get boring anyway 🙂
truce? HAH! If my gf came here, I’d shoot her first 😛
I know she’d do the same.
P.S. the most pointless was the argument about the percentages 🙂
