The issue is now we have tank types that allow tanks to have all sort of attributes that can be associated with each tank. e.g. each tank can have different health, weapons etc… Allowing people to define their own would break the ballance of the mod (and could be considered cheating). Of course we could just allow people to skin (change the look) of the existing tanks but thats harder for people to configure.May 17, 2012 at 8:06 pm in reply to: Scorched 3D used from a USB Cloud drive – Portable #65267
Should be ok, most things are cached in memory after first time use and during level loading.
One word : nice 🙂
Hey hey Mandy.
There a file for each mod, which mod are you playing?
I’d like to rotate the mods on the main server (perhaps each stats season) so watch this space I guess.
Sounds great. The work you have done on AWE is very good.
and if you dont want to mess with that, you can always film in the spectator mode, though I bet you wanna play. 😉
There is also a key binding to remove all of the screen windows.
Is it alt-z by default? something like that.
A little hardcore but you can make all of those changes in the windows.xml file.
For example you can change :
to remove the plan/wind windows while the shots are playing.
Sounds like merge is using a weapon/combo that is causing a client/server sync issue. I’ll download it and have a look.
Hi sorry for the late reply, Sourceforge wasn’t accepting new files for some reason.
Anyway here is a debug version of scorched3d (just the client):
Unzip the contents in the Scorched3D directory (usualy c:program filesscorched3d), overwriting files that are already there. If you double click on the crashDump.reg file (registry settings file) it will tell windows to create small dump files for programs that crash. I can use these dump files to see why its crashing on your machine. The dump files are created in c:windowstemp (you’ll need to edit the crashDump.reg file if windows is in a different location).
So the idea is this:
1) use the crashDump.reg file.
2) Unzip the new scorchedc.exe binary in place of the existing binary
3) run scorched3d as normal (the titile of the client will now say debug) (it may run slower using this debug version)
4) If scorched3d crashes
5) there should be a dump file in the c:windowstemp directory which you can zip and send to me.
On all the servers?
Everyone needs to be on 43.3b. If you didn’t download this, get it and install just incase!
Think that was just a typo. He meant d.
Thanks for the new report, here is another debug version see how you get on with that.
