I hope you are happy. Here is the first of the Death Head family. This one is the baby missle version 😀 It is called D.H. Baby for lack of a better name and name length.

Cost, Name, and Description may be changed if desired. and any feedback/constructive criticzm is welcome. The key word being “constructive” 😉

Maybe even a death’s head that drops napalm…

Didn’t you see the Napalm Mirv? Or are you just greedy? 😈
Sure i’ll work on it. Those really are not to hard, just very tedious because of the new format for weapon definition’s. Give me a few days because I have a lot of college classwork to do right now amongst other things.

As a note to these custom weapons. As it was explained to me in an earlier post, these are no good if you join an internet/lan server with the intent to use them. This is because the server says exactly what is and is not allowed. BUT if you implement these and then begin your own server the all players will automatically be able to use them while playing. Which means a GREAT NETWORK PARTY!!!

Any ways I can get it done within the weak (time permitting). I’ll post them as I churn them out.

Well, I finished that one already but i am unsatisfied with it. I had to scale it back because in the process of converting it to the new version it seemed to have gained power and destructive capability (and the ability to exponentionaly decrease framerate 😡 ). I will post the one I use now and if you feel like it leave a post/request or send me a private message and I will send/post the “full version” of the Travolta.

Again if you have any suggestions please post them ❗

To make it easier for people to add to their weapons list, the number in front of each line is the number of corresponding “tab’s” that need to be inserted at that point. And inorder to avoid confusion I also recomend that you edit the accessories.xml file with “notepad” (windows) and expand to full screen. Then copy/paste/and insert # of tabs.

    happy bombing 😈

Hey! As I promissed here is another one that is fun to use but beware as it is hot stuff!

If any one finds any kind of problem or otherwise in the codes that I am posting please feel free to mention it. Even if it is just a configuration of price, explosion size, or something else. Feel free to comment!!

By popular demand 😉 here is another remake of a custom weapon originaly from 36x and is now compatable with 37x! just add the appropriate tabs to each line to finish the code. this one will be easier than the last! I will post a special weapon tomorrow! 8)

❗ Remember everybody to keep an original accessories.xml file backed up in case you mess it up! ❗

    Congrats Gavin!

Well, overall I give it a ‘great’ rating. There are a few things that I like and don’t like. The most important thing that I like is the new tanks. There are a few in there that are just awesome, especially the “Death” tank 😈 . Also along the same lines is the larger tank sizes in the game. It seems to me as if the tanks are a bit larger and easier to see.
I really like the trees and waves that you have added. They give it a really nice touch.

There is one thing that I am however unhappy about is the ‘change’ noted for the coordinates. I liked to use the window to note the -/+ of the different coordinate changes and that is nolonger there. I finally figgured out that you had to look at the tank as you changed the coordinates but I would rather have it in the window.

Well, after I play it some more I will give you guys more feedback.

Ps. For those of you who are interested I have reprogrammed the custom weapon called “Hornet’s nest” which was created by Fever for V36. It took a while but I finished and if any are interested in adding to their arsenal it works great!

I think batteries only increase your shot power, like if you get damaged, you can still fire at full strength.

this is correct. the batteries have no effect to my knowledge on fuel usage. they are used to restore health (shot power).

I have noticed that sometimes you can’t see the ring or it does not appear for two reasons.
One: if too many settings are turnd off in the config. many details and colors are messed up and even may shift through the game. I think that it has something to do with either the GLextensions and/or the multitextures.

Two: sometimes the land is already black or the screen dark (config. brightness setting) and even if it is there you still won’t see it.

So here is my recomendation if reason one does not apply to you just start a single custom game and start with lots of money. Buy fuel and just try to do it till you figgure it out. 🙂

Hmmm…. Well I like the Idea. But lets not give our friendly programming staff too much to do.

I would like to see a save game option and more rounds like the old scorch game. in that game you could go up to a thousand rounds. I would like to see at least 50 rounds and a save game option for the single player-custom games. and a save game for all the single player games. It would be really nice.

    dracon23

ps: I still use ScorchedEarth 1.5 on my XP system. and I like to play the high round games. 🙂

well, for the trooper weapon i cant help you 🙁 but what i can tell you is that there is a ton of ways to create new weapons. if you look down the list of topics there is one for “openscource weapons recapies” there are a whole lot of different weapons in here. all you have to do is edit your accessories.xml file and add the new weapons. or if you dont want to go to the trouble or you don’t got a clue as to how to go about editing said file, you can leave your email and i can send you the accessories.xml file that i currently use. there is lots of stuff in it. 8)

i will warn you though that you had better have a good graphics otherwise the game will slow down considderably. also the bots likes to use some of the big boom weapons so watch out! 😈

lastly, i feel that you need to know that once the next version (V37) comes out the current weapon definition coding will be worthless. 😥 you will need to make the weapons over from scratch. that will NOT be easy as the definitions for the next game are VERY specific and difficult to adjust to. i have started converting some of the custom weapons but it is very tedious.

    have fun,

when the launch screen comes up click on the top button (single/multiplayer) then click the bottom (last) button to initiate a custom single player game with configurations for the various options. now, here you will find all the options to configure your game such as number of players (includung yourself, you make them into bots after you select your own tank), #rounds, land options, money options, and all that stuff.

that should be enough… think you can handle it from here?

    try the following settings

    display settings
    800×600 (not full screen)
    level of detail
    texture sizes=medium
    tank detail=high
    effects detail=high
    Detail (turn off)
    tank skins

I had quite a problem with this one
    trouble shooting
    no GL Extensions
    full clear
    Misc. options
    no sound
    (on) show frames per second

    to help with observational diagnostics

you might also play around with the “no TexSubImaging”, “no multi texture” and “no cube map textures”

I currently run XP and the above are my current settings. although I can turn most all on and set the display to 1024×768 full screen it slows down considderably and will fail about 34 percent and the only thing that I have to have off is “tank skins” otherwise it WILL crash after the first round.

    hope this helps

well, the best advice that I can despense is turn off all graphics estensions and start turning them on one at a time. play a game and if every thing goes ok then turn on the next. I had a similar problem with my comp. I think that it has to do with both the openGL and also the texture processes. start with those. also turn off the water and other stuff. I recomend that you play a custom game with about 4 or 5 bots and 4-5 rounds, and play it through to the end. this will allow most of the different weapons to be used and the card to do the processes. this will help you find out what works best.

While I really don’t have any technical programming skills to speak of, I like to try the guess and check method. it can be tedious but it works for me.
