Hey, that mod seems to aim to be the actual opposite to snipermod 🙂
I have to try it !
…onto Spectrum for spreading rumors about…
Ah, thanks for this thread, I will improve my shot time by starting to use the right click instead of slow numpad rotation.
I myself use the camera 2 and 4 a lot.
4 for straight shots, like bobirov i can now have a pretty good estimation of the distance to shoot above target in that view based on distance.
I use camera 2 during adjust time to estimate how is positioned my target relative to my tank and apply altitude and wind diffs. Of course it only works when the target is in that viewfield 🙂
During shots I also switch often between those 2 views to see where my shots end and if i’m near to be hit.
I hate the side scrolling too, I always disable it.
Shockmod server have been moved to a dedicated host with a nice 100Mbps link – goodbye lag, farewell long downloads 🙂
Stats have been reset in the process.
I still need to set up the webserver for stats web pages, but the new stats are already recorded to database.
Boy please if you can edit the 1st post, new hostname/port of server is “deuxvis.fr:27270”.
Thank you very much ! 🙂
Me too ! 8)
I agree with BD on those suggestions. Tis a pain to have to remember to backup my avatars (system wide) folder before any upgrade on FreeBSD.
I am thinking I should uninstall the whole game and then re-install!? 🙁
Yup it should fix it, but get sure to keep a copyof your ids.xml file if you want to keep our online rank.
And next time you try to edit one of those xml files, keeping a backup would be a good idea.February 5, 2007 at 7:33 am in reply to: We’re really rollin now Need more scorchers! (AstroEmpires) #39646

Not being able to read arabic, i just wonder what funny comment is above the actual countdown. Anyone knows ?February 2, 2007 at 7:10 am in reply to: We’re really rollin now Need more scorchers! (AstroEmpires) #39635
I joined too, though i won’t reveal my placement on public media for security reasons, I’m in B09.
I played that kind of games allready (planetarion and ogame), this one seems slow-paced enough which is a good thing when you try to have a life 😆
How about a [S3D] tag ? Would be easier to link with scorched.
I meant to say, all my servers are ok and are not showing this error. I will need to think how to debug this one.
My shockmod server does that too. Gavin, PM me if you want help on debugging it (can give you shell access or follow your instructions, as you wish).November 27, 2006 at 1:14 pm in reply to: Help installing onto Mac OS X (and app build request) #36038
Extensive is a bit abusive 🙂
I’m sorry but i currently no longer have acess to MacOS machines, so it will be difficult to help you.
Do you know about command line working in MacOS ? Running the file from within a console window may help, as you’d be able to see what the output of its execution is, and to report it here if it doesn’t helps you.
Launching scorched3d from commandline is as simple as typing “scorched3d” in a xterm window (once the game has been successfully installed).
Actually i believe it’s the main way to launch it, it doesn’t auto register in kde/gnome/whatever menus.
It was just a warning I think. It looks look you successfully built scorched3d, congrats !
You should be able to “make install” now 🙂
