what i meant, am i allowed to do just that make copies and sell them at cost.Or would i have to give them away for free?
That depends on if you’re selling them at the cost of the media you’re burning them on or more. Even then, I’m not so sure about the word “allowed” but I’d definitely say dishonorable would fit the bill (if you were profiting). Especially when there’s a paypal link to donate for this project.
Cause to not only not donate for the cause but to profit yourself would be pretty low. (Not saying that not donating by itself is bad in any way.)
Would i be allowed to make a copy and charge the cost of burning the cd and printing the case?
How about 1000?
If you sing some songs while you hand them out, I’ll give you enough for a Death’s Head.
I have to agree with the main idea that it’s morally wrong to sell a game that’s not even theirs and was intended to be free.
If not for the reasons stated above, then for the other projects and libraries out there that have been implemented in Scorched 3D that they intended to be used for without profitable gain. If they saw that this game (using some of their technologies) was out there for sale they may be under the wrong impression that we are to blame and it may come back on us.
The GPL may or may not allow you to sell the work in question, (I’m not arguing that) but I’m pretty sure it’s illegal to sell someone else’s work anyway regardles of GPL or not.
Btw, it’s real nice to see you’re back Reactorfighter. I haven’t seen you in forever.
Does that copy of Scorched 3D you found have a website on it or any company listed there?
That’s a pretty nifty cover I must say though. I like it. We should have this guy make cases for us for distribution… After we get through all the legal nasties that is.
Either way, Gavin should feel honored that someone would go this far with his game.
Actually, I think older versions of Scorched allowed Napalm to burn under water and it was changed to allow it as an option instead.
Gavin is away at the moment so it may be a little while before he replies.
“beer cans or similar?”
How about foam NERF darts?
Which gives me an idea: How about making lots of different silly projectiles for the mod?
If there’s interest, I’d like to make some. It’d be a perfect project to help me remember how milkshape worked.
Anyone got a recommendation for a tank for this mod?
Been looking to get back into modeling. I need to brush up on the ol’ model-making skills.April 2, 2008 at 1:38 am in reply to: BBFC gives Scorched3D 40+ age rating (April Fools) #50997
make sure you have the model detail (may have been called tank detail, don’t remember) level all the way up in the settings…
I think it’s the middle one.
I’d give you a lot clearer instructions but I don’t remember for sure and I’m not on a comp that has scorched right now.
Damn, that’s an old bulldozer.
That picture doesn’t even make sense… Everywhere else in that scene has very little snow except that one area…
It’s really just a few inches over a rock cliff isn’t it?
that last pic has 2 moons now.
Patched with the last version plus I have the latest unofficial oblivion patches, all of the official expansions and all of the official addons plus one unofficial addon (inebriation mod).
All the highest settings (used HDR instead of AA)
Windows XP SP3.
It used to not freeze back when I had my ATI card but after installing my 8800gt, it does.
I suppose I can try turning some of the mods off and seeing what it does.
Could you try posting the modinfo file you modified so we can look at it?
