    An 82810E? Ouch… That’s my integrated card. It was incredibly slow with games (including Scorched3D) and then I bought a GeForce 4 MX 440 and man what a difference. I know NOW that it isn’t the best card (I think they said it was the best back in Feb. 2003) but it’s still like 1000 times better than my 82810E. I think they are only like $50 now. You should try investing in one. You won’t be disappointed.

    Maybe I should run my 82810E also just to back this guys problems up…

    I was thinking of perhaps a new weapon which opened in midair revealing dozens of mushroom-shaped paratroopers.

    The remainder of the game could center around jumping on top of said ‘troopas’, and fighting large lizards in order to rescue a princess.

    LOL! ….And then you and the Princess drive happily away in your M1A1 into the sunset.

    The last I heard, gcamp was looking into the ships/more uses for the water idea. I think right now, priorities have kept him from it though.

    I’ve never had an ATI card, but are there any advanced settings you can change in the software for it that might fix that? It seems weird that you and your bro have the same type of card and same type of comp but you are experiencing problems only.

    Assuming you have Windows:

    The site recommends “PIII 800 IBM PC, DirectX 8, Win 95 and up, hardware accelerated vid card.”

    (I have only a 566 Celeron but a decent vid card to compensate and it runs good with nearly everything all the way up).

    As for RAM, I think 128 is a safe estimate.

    For internet/LAN, you’ll need an Ethernet card for LAN and at least a 56k modem for internet (should work for server and client).

    Anything I miss?

    How can anyone be offended by asterisks? Or are they not asterisks in the game?

    I suppose either way it is better to be safe than sorry… You can always place it in yourself if ya want it that bad right?

    Two months isn’t bad. I can play Scorched3D in the mean time 😀 . It can allow you guys to get more done and not have to worry constantly about posting a new version. Also at about 16 megs, it would be kinda hard for 56k modem people to have to keep downloading new versions every month.

    Just posting about the new features from time to time is enough for me.

    My vote is “Same as now”.

    Hey, even if the Shot Cam is kinda buggy, don’t lose hope. It’s still my favorite camera view.

    I love the new fonts and colors and such! I do have one suggestion/question. In the new version, does one have to click on the top menu buttons (Camera, Player, Weapons, Windows) to get them to drop down? It seems that since those menus are used so often, it would be nice if it was only necessary to hover over them to get them to drop-down. Sort of like some menus that one sees on a website. I guess this could be an option.

    You know, I think I’d have to test it out before I could decide that, but it might be easier.

    BTW, New fonts are easier to read and I like ’em.

    Actually, I find it important that the colors of text stay corresponding with the color you are. If we would all have the same colored text it would be harder to relate it to a certain tank. I’m well aware that we could still use names to figure out who it is but my point is color coding makes it so much more easier.

    Maybe if there were an option of color preference for text and tank name and if the colors are not used on the server you could use that preferred color.

    Oh I see now. I think it does look better than the current setup. Looks more organized from what I can see.
