I really don’t understand why resigning became so unliked. You would think it only logical to resign if you can’t reach anyone. When I first joined about 5 months ago I resigned once. I saw how it wasn’t taken well.
Why should anyone be able to cripple you, then turn their gun elsewhere, kill someone else, then expect you to still be there? It doesn’t make sense, but it seems to be the accepted way. So that’s how I play it.
I know what you are looking for any I certainly do not disagree. However, no matter what you do there will always be some weapons that are more useful. Even if the funky would be made “undesireable”, some other weapon would take it’s place sooner or later. The one shot one kill ratio might drop, which isn’t a bad thing really right? I do fear though that getting people to use the full range of the weaponry on a regular basis might be a little optimistic.
You’re probably right. But the reason I think Funky’s are more often the weapon of choice, and I may be wrong, is because they are a more versitile weapon. Or an “anytime” weapon as opposed to most of the other weapons which are situational.
If you really want to kill someone in the next round, or you just want to get a kill, what weapon comes to mind besides a Deaths Head? Even the DH is somewhat situational. So the funky is both powerfull and an anytime weapon. That, IMHO, is what I think is the reasoning behind it’s over use. I don’t think that can be said about any other weapon.
Very interesting and comical. I’ve heard of these stories many times in the past. But I must say, as a computer user since the early 90’s, i’ve never experienced any of these problems. From the 386’s to the pentiums, everything has always run smoothly. So I can only atribute most of these problems to user error.
I was playing Sabi just yesterday. It was round 10, 1st shot on the ice cavern map. He had a force bubble up. My Sandhog bounced off of his bubble and hit the ice right in front of him and he blew up. Which is why I said a sandhog can do that. It is the only time i’ve ever seen it happen.
Now that I think of it. Maybe the little bit the hog took off the bubble when it bounced, was just enough damage to the bubble for the hog to kill bubble and occupant upon impact with the ground.
I dont think anyone wants to get rid of Hogs and funkys. A regular Hog can take out a force shield and it’s occupant. So can a well placed Funky. The problem is, a 5 pack of Hogs costs 30k, the 2 pack funky cost 18k. That is why you see more funkys. Me personally, I just wanted to see more balance in weapon use. More nukes, more hot napalm, mirvs, blah blah blah……not funkys all game. Maybe by lowering the cost of said items it can happen.
As far as noobs go. The noobs don’t need a special weapon. Like any other game, there is a learning curve. You either grin and bear it, or go home. It just so happens that this game is especially brutal.
Not meaing to hijack the thread or anything, but there is another weapon that could use some reducing to the tracking radius *cough* hogs *cough*. 😛
You think so? They don’t work for me. It seems like the more inacurate I am, the more likely I get a kill with a hog 😆 . I think it’s because they are underground and can’t see 🙄 , the explode all around your opponents but never actually hit them. But what do I know? I’m just as blind as the hogs. Look at my suggestion for example. It already is that way 😳 .
I duuno, I was just looking for anything to tone down how much funkys dominate the game in the last few rounds. Maybe lowering the cost of Mirvs and Nukes could help?
I remember them being called “Macros” back when I played Doom2 a million years ago.
I almost exclusively use the right click hold and spin……sometimes left click and then do as i mentioned above. As far as edge scrolling……rarely. But i do have full screen 1440X900 on my 20 inch flat screen. I was also very impressed that that RES was available since it is not in many games i pay for.
Also, would someone mind explaining to me what “the new click and drag camera movement” is?
Your method is fine. But you have a method. I’ve noticed a lot of new players having problems. I think it may be a big reason why a lot of them don’t come back. I see them typeing…….I can see anything, or….where am i shooting, and even…this is making me dizzy….I love the way it’s set up. But a lot of new players I think get frustrated early on. I tried to get some of my online friends to play. Two of them got discouraged with what i’m talking about. The other “Lefbal” my brother in law, seemed to have no problem.
Truce in apoc is not allowed cuz the old players teach to the new that is not fair, so noone ask to truce. In the main server i see very rarely the old players, maybe this is the problem.
About the language : i cant read a mountain of lies and write a love letter to reply.U think that my language is not respectable? Well, i think the same about the tnick post.We have different sensibility
Sort of like dirt in the main server. Truce is primarily used so that two people don’t die on the first shot. Easily understandable. Plus a truce can get you targeted when you otherwise would not be, because it can be seen as the greater threat.
Doesn’t matter. Apoc is Apoc, Main is Main. You can’t expect to bring your Apoc rules to Main and have everyone bow down. It’s never going to happen. People will truce in Main no matter how many times you come in and dirt. So the only real thing you’ve accomplished is to get banned. Seems like a waste of time to me.
This is an absolutely excellent idea. In fact it’s common place with a lot of games. Perfect.
The point is, was the place that sold her the coffee at fault? The settlement was for 2 Mil. Then dropped to 200k on appeal. It just seems like people are never at fault for the bad things that happen to them. Someone else always has to take the blame. Someone is always looking to be compensated when in fact they were probably partly to blame.
I may be totally off, but this is how i see it. Wondering why a DH spreads more fired horizontally vs high angle, right?
When fired at say 10 degrees 1000 power the missiles disperse and are spread apart by what appears to be wind resistance.
If you fire it at 80 degrees 1000 power the missile stays in tact until it reaches it’s apex. Then when it disperses the projectiles, they are falling slowly with very little wind resistance causing them to stay close to eachother. It basically depends on how fast it’s going when it reaches it’s apex. It’s always going to be slower at higher angles.
Yes Tora, I was there for one of them. First round, first shot, dirt on “ONE”. Then there is a call “we have a dirter”.
Now if you keep doing this, the minute you’re spotted, you will be tagged. Whether or not you threw dirt. You’re known for it. Then you won’t relent. You’ll argue and make things worse. Why?
Unfortunately, whether it’s in bad taste or not, it’s likely to get you federal prison time no matter what nation you’re flying into/out of, but especially so in the U.S. where that type of humor is not allowed in any form whatsoever in our new age of politically-“correct”, pseudo-security oppression.
I think you are correct. It reminds me of that old candid camera scene where a guy walks up to a bus stop, puts down a briefcase or a box, then runs away. Not acceptable today.
