I just had a thought for the name of that roller design. How about calling them Head Rollers?

Ok, i think that is good. 8)

Is it possible to make a weapon with the existing code that is like the mirv only instead of it faning out in a vertical line, it fans out in a perfectly straight horizontal line? That would be cool for mowing down a tank and doing some extra collateral damage at the same time.

I am not sure what you mean. There are two types of spread. One is the same that is used in the spread mirv and death head. At the apex of the projectile arch the war heads fan out perpendicular to its path of travel. in the regular mirv the warheads fan out “in line” with its direction of travel. for example:

    spread mirv

    or

    (regular) mirv

    — — — —

if you mean like the regular mirv, then yes I can. If you mean something else then I do not know and it probrably cannot be done. I am limmited to the “tags” that the game recognizes, in order to implement a new “tag” or type of weapon defininition you need to ask the programmers to help. 😀

I hope that this answers your question.

Try this one out, my first attempt at making a new weapon. Just a bigger version of a Leap Frog with an extra bomb. Called it the BouncingBetty. Might want to drop its armslevel or adjust cost but I like it.

there is another weapon like this that releases several warheads on each bounce. check the post titled “Open Source Weapon’s Recepies” by fever. you may have to go back a few pages in the topics to find it. the weapons that are mentioned there are similar if not the same as the ones posted previously in this topic, just reprogrammed.

I have changed the betty and made it similar tho still of my own creation. Made it 4 mirv type explosions instead of single baby nuke size. I’m not sure if I’m happy with it yet and won’t post it yet. I just started playing the game after 37 so I’m still learning how to do things but this is a lot of fun. Looking at that post there are alot of good ideas 🙂

Here’s another simple one I was thinking about. It’s simply a MOAB sized dirt remover like a huge riot bomb or something. I call it the landscaper 🙂

I think the Spread MIRV used to be like that, but it looks like it got changed for v37, and now does a random spread instead of a straight line.

The spread mirv i was talking about was like this…

    .
    .
    .
    .
    .
    .
    .

    instead of the regular mirv

    ……

    or regular spread mirv

    ..

    .
    ……
    ..
    .

But, i believe that would require a new tag or something.

Anyways, here is a nice little challange for you. How about a spread mirv that speads out into several leap frog like warheads that explode a wee bit smaller than the baby nuke. Then after the leap frog warheads explode, they release other projectiles. These projectiles then spead out into several baby missiles or missiles. This could be an intersting weapon.

You could call it the, Havoc Bomb, Haymaker, Hail Mary, or Blitzkreige.

That definately sounds like a challenge, but I like it hehe. In the meantime here is one I call the Fungal Bloom. Inspired by the “Genesis Project” I saw in the other post. Dunno if it works the same but its a similar idea. The dirt gets in the way of the subsequent bombs tho so it doesn’t work quite as good as I wanted.

Here is that revised version of the betty I posted earlier. Still can’t decide if it works 100% like I intended but it is still more interesting than the previous one.. 😉 I’ve been posting these using the Forums code function. I think its a little easier to repair the wrapping errors than replace all the hundreds of tabs hehe, just my opinion.

Call this one the Hellstorm. Its very unpredictable and varies from totally useless suicidal weapon to fairly effective killing machine. It explodes like a funky bomb only in mid air producing some nasty pure napalm effects and a ton of explosive tipped napalm. Fun to watch

well here is the “Head Roller” that was requested. I took it from 20 to 10 warheads though because having 20 rollers and subsequent explosions wrecked havoc on my nonexistant framerate. 😕 Reason being I cant afford a better system right now and I have an integrated graphics card and the Board has issues when I try to use the AGP expansion slot.

Got the idea for this one after I saw the “Head Roller” in action. I call this one Fire Ants. Basically like Head Roller only with tiny explosions that ignite Napalm. I am very pleased with this weapon, its really cool to see in action 🙂

WOW I never expected this much response. Thank you everybody for your help. Now that I can see how to do it, it should be easy to think up some nasty little ones to add to my server. Thank you everybody for your input. By the way I run the Lajes Field server, come on over an play sometime.

I’ve been running all these weapons (some of them slightly tweaked) on the “Apocalypse Server” and have had alot of people playing it hehe. Anyways tho I HAD to share this bomb I just made. It can level HUGE areas and its only 5 more bombs than a Deaths Head. Just shoot it fairly high into the air in the middle of the field and watch it destroy almost EVERYTHING heh. Mmmmm doomsday device 😉

Looks great guys :D, perhaps we should have a vote and the best ones get put as an option into the next version 🙂

Do the files actualy need the tabs. I though they should work without any?
