I Thought it would be very useful for scorch moderators to have
a good place to link to some nice & useful free texture sites.

This may help any of those who need some good textures for your mods.

Here is a link to some *breath takeing* & never ending sky textures
and also good for desktop pictures. πŸ˜€

I personaly have downloaded over 150 of them and made a slideshow
on my desktop but, will also be using some in seamless cloud & sky textures.

    1000 sky textures link:

heres a link to maXons various texture links & types you can sort threw

Keep in mind licensing issues with stuff like this. πŸ˜‰

Checked out the first site quickly – nice pictures. Will be usefull for my own “scene” modelling. πŸ™‚

heh, seeing as I followed the links on google saying in big letters
—>FREE TEXTURES<—it's up for grabs as far as im concerned.
I try to avoid pictures & sites that supply the *void* all over it.
    or copyrighted etc, etc.

but, if the internet police want to discuss this with me further
they can have my people call their people πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜†

Free ” is a matter of freedom, not priced.
To understand the concept, you should think of “free” as in `
    `free no strigs attached,”
not as in “free for $60.” –

I’ll post some links later for this but where I’ve found some of my
textures in the last month have been on P2P.

Texture links, all of which I got from blender news.

(The first link doesn’t work yet so keep checking it out, will delete it if it doesn’t come back up)
    Art Morgue
    Planet Texture Maps
    Tor Oera

I’m sure Bob will like the last 2 links. Planet maps and textures.

    Nice! πŸ™‚

    useful topic

I’m including this page in development section of the wiki

I had used some of these in the past. JHT’s planetary maps are really nice. It was only through using his that I was able to get Saturn’s rings to look half decent.

    (I’ll post a render in a minute)
A render of a “Saturn” I made using JHT’s maps:

Good post – some nice links here. πŸ™‚

If anyone wants some neat maps for Earth, google “blue marble” πŸ™‚

    WOW Saturn looks good!

Next we need a post for “where to get “FREE” sound files.
When I get home I’ll post up some links if I have time. IF I don’t I’ll have to wait till monday.
