The latest Schorched only shows artillery-related tank models. What happened?
Check your Tank-Detail level in the pre-loader settings. Many of the
more interesting tanks will be missing if you choose low or med details.
Most notably in Swars, where Low-detail drops it to only 2 available tanks.
Plus.. Lowering the tank-details does very little to the overall speed, may
as well keep it on High.

Yep, that fixed it. I’m thinking I should file a bug report now.
Ever tried to get the game running on 1680×1050 with an Intel GM965 video card at an acceptable speed? If a setting means I lose some of my choices without gaining anything, at least the docs should tell me, preferably the pre-game settings screen. People hate reading manuals, but those don’t even hint at my problem.
I’ll think about this sober, but since I’m not, I’ll be content with praising you for your fast and effective answer. You just restored my faith in this community.
Thinks: Might as well use this for other model problems…
Thanks for the great game! Have only been playing it with my family for now.
Alright, I’ve been wondering if there are separate files(.ase & .bmp) for the
Deathstar, ATAT, and R2D2. Thanks, Brad
The ATAT and R2D2 tanks exist in the Swars mod as milkshape
ascii ‘Txt + bmp’ files. There currently is no Death-Star tank model.
However, there is a larger weapon-used model in that mod that -might- work.
Got that, but how do you get at them? BTW, there is a deathstar.zip
in the swars preview section of the mods forum, but it doesn’t contain
everything. Thanks, Brad
Ya.. that one is very old and was replaced long ago in the mod.
If you play the mod itself, those tanks are available. But if you wish to clip
out the files and use them locally in the default, they are found in the mod
Each subfolder contains the milkshape ascii formats of that tank. You will
need to duplicate both the folder, and the lines in the tanks.xml referring
