    Just figuring out the way everything is organized in a mod is a huge step. Once you figure out which files are needed to do what its realy just a matter of reading through the docs that a few brave souls have been awesome enough to put together for us all. After you start modifying existing weapons you will start to get ideas on how you’d like to change them. At some point your changes to a weapon will turn it into something very diffrent, and then you’ll realize its usualy faster to start from scratch.

    Everyone here is very helpfull. Just try not to feel rushed, I have a feeling alot of the people here will be here still for a very long time. I personaly have been very inspired by how active development in general is, makes me want to up my game for sure. Even if the core development of the game was to stop right where it is now, we would all have enough tools to try out countless new ideas. The current mods are pretty amazing if you stop and think about it, tons of work has been put into them. Some people *cough* thrax *cough* shockwave *cough* boy *cough* jdog *cough* cbx *cough* that bob guy, have been realy pushing the bounderies of what is possible. Oh and that Gavin guy seems to have done a bit too 🙂

    guys, Insulting people like this can ruin their life as modders. they want to make a mod, they put out a beta with not all the weapons done, and you guys go CRAZY! it really buggs me that you guys don’t know the meaning of not done yet.

    and if this was his finished product, it needs alot of work.

    I’ve talked to some people and one guy said:
    “Huge maps are pain in the a**”
    Huge maps are included, because I thought it’s giving some better variety to the mod and there are less than 10% of all maps huge ones.
    I have to say that I’m thankful for all kinds of criticism and I would like to hear more about what you like or dislike about my mod.
    There’s been changed much again, but I still feel there’s much left that could be better.

    Yes, so i saw. only 3 of the 7 swars maps. enough for a taste yet
    keeps the size down; much better.
    Your Recoloring of the Black-Rose Classic Mod’s GUI windows is
    nicely done.

    making bigger versions of existing weapons make’s more…
    but not always better.
    If every weapon in the arsonal is an instant kill, the game gets
    boring fast. And the play-lag hurts a lot of players.
    Examine how they are made and you’ll see that many are cooler
    if they damage a lot.. and only kill if expertly used.

    Offtopic posts are common and commonly considered acceptable in the forums here, but this thread was getting completely hijacked. I apologize for any confusion the split causes

    Back to the topic – I had a quick look at the latest weapon list and you remind me that I really need to keep in mind the armslevel more in my own mods. I’m eager to try your mod, Hiob, but I’m on a really slow net connection most of the time. 🙁

    Also – be wary of having too many weapons to choose from, as it can scare off new players. I recall when I was new to the game (many many moons ago), I joined an Apoc server and was completely overwhelmed by the vast weapon choice (especially since I didn’t know what most of them did!) – it made buying hard at first. On the other hand, a vast selection of weapons is a ton of fun. 😉

    It appears to me that you have a fair number of large weapons – the danger with that is that some will be the only ones people use… it looks like you are covering that by balancing the prices and the armslevel… I admire your diligence!
    Keep it up, and feel free to ask any questions you want – there’s a good gang of modders. 🙂

    My second tanktype doesn’t work right sometimes…
    When I set the number of round to 12 then I got no infinite MOABs
    on 10 rounds everything works fine
    The armslevel is always high enough cause I’ve set the level of all weapons that could be infite to the Baby Missile’s

    Paramines are his version of the Mine’s from Scorch-wars, adapted for his
    own mod. Mirving over them, floating down, and then self-replicating for
    a few pops. You’ve seen how evil they are already, it’s a good weapon
    to share.

    Ion Cannon is new and looks damn nice and it works really like no other weapon before.
    It combines Laser-, Collision- and Explosiondamage and the beam increases between in range and damage and then decreases again.

    I had to steal those mines, it’s nice to trap someone. So one more reason to use fuel, though it’s sometimes risky to escape the minefield.
