Of course we all know that the game can go faster via buttons but I was wondering if there was a command for slowing the game down.

There’s not one listed under the “help” command.

The reason I’m asking is because it would be helpful in testing out custom projectiles. (It’d also be fun to tinker around with too.)

You got me curious, and I figured this’d be easy to do, so I took a look at the source, and in client/SpeedCahange.cpp, I found that there are keys for this! I was thinking of adding keys for 1/2, 1/4, and 1/8 speed, maybe shift-F1 etc…. took a look at keys.xml and found it’s done already! 😉

    SIMULATION_SPEED_HALF
    Half speed
Changes the simulator to simulate half as fast
    7
    F2

    SIMULATION_SPEED_QUARTER
    Quarter speed
Changes the simulator to simulate a quarter times as fast
    7
    F3

    SIMULATION_SPEED_EIGHTH
    Eighth speed
Changes the simulator to simulate a eighth times as fast
    7
    F4

This game is just FULL of surprises! 😀

    Cheers

I was wondering if they were already in there because the ones for fast animation aren’t in the command list. That’s why I asked heheh.

Only works when you’re playing against bots on your own custom games etc – won’t work when connecting to a server on the internet…

    BRING ON REPLAY!!! 😀

Speed control doesn’t work in multiplayer network games, only local games.
