    Another thread brought up the idea that a Mod hosted by Gavin would
    be more appealing than a “mod-home” marked server.

    If that were the case, and he did choose to host one, which of the mods
    that you’ve tried would you like to see made more ‘secure’.

    I was going to build a Poll, but I’ve also heard groans on the number of
    them lately.. So I’ll wait for some feed-back first.

    The current public and known mods available are:

      stoneage
      lasermod
      sniper
      roofmod
      jdog
      swars
      raptor
      kid
      pinkpanther
      gallery
      classic
      merge
      mcb
      opscorched
      d-day
      destruction
      christmas
      superhero

    Also note that unlike the Default pack, these mods can be changed
    immediately if a weapon, price, or defence imbalance is mentioned.
    And any errors, Ai mis-settings, or overloading features can be
    corrected as they are found.

    ps. In many mods, the use of defences, movement, and alternate
    weapon capacities can cancel any ‘cheating’ methods by those that
    still feel the need to implement them.

    I don’t really know mods good enough to say my word here, but I love MCB server as a place allowing me to play without bothering common public and (almost) without being bothered by common public. Thanks for hosting it.

    Large Amount of Starting Fuel or Cash Perhaps ?

    I’m sure that you could give enough fuel so that everyone could run from every shot. That would be an adaquate defense, but it ruins the game for everyone, even the cheaters.

    With enough cash you can buy super deluxe weapons and shields. This will provide you with adaquate protection to get off a few shots. The cheater will have the same amount of cash and the aimbot. Using the aimbot allows every shot to be a direct hit. Not likely for the honest shooter thus the game is not sufficiently balanced. You’re dead.

    As I’ve seen you mention, it’s the balance that makes the game. Defenses balanced against offenses. From my perspective, there is no way to achieve the proper balance unless you include the aimbot as part of the game or eliminate it completely.

    Like you, I’m trying to improve the game, so if you have found a way to provide the proper balance, please provide the details. I’d like to get my mod back up SOON.

    No, Uber-Cash and mega-weapons aren’t the answer.. they only
    increase any imbalance. Not to mention, make the game as lame to
    play as using the cheating itself would.

    -Defences that can stand 1 hit and survive.
    -Defences that implement methods requiring strategy rather than force.
    -Movement while firing, to evade and still counter-attack.
    -Weapons implementing different attack structures beyond the
    basic 1000-power lobbing.
    -Healing and power-boosting abilities that can change the players
    status beyond the cheating-scripts capacity to comprehend.
    -Tanks that begin with themed differences in power-levels and
    weapon-sets.

    Cheating will never be implemented in the game. It is being stamped
    out as fast as they attempt it. Anyone saying otherwise, isn’t a
    Developer… and is likely trying to hide something themselves.

    And if you rebuild and re-release your apoc-x, I will add it to the list above for consideration.

    Due to the remodel of rollers into hyper-balls, and the lack of interest
    over 14-17 months… the mod became un-feasable and was absorbed
    back into the mods it was built from.

    It’s v39 original is still archived.. but current methods would make it
    totally unpredictable and un-usable.

    i am missing the toybox??

    toybox used to be a mod i played ;-), and i usually dont play mods as i said several times before.

    And as I said before, the only reason toy-box isn’t in the current
    available mods, is that Brain-Damage hasn’t chosen to convert and
    release it.
    If you want it back, you can discuss it with him; or if too long passes
    without a responce, someone else qualified can convert and monitor it
    for a while.

    shockmod
    d-day
    swars
    where is scavenger?

    A bit offtopic but it is good idea if gavin setup subdomains for the main mods. (of course if ppl want it)
    example: toybox.scorched3d.co.uk ; roofmod.scorched3d.co.uk ….. etc.

    This is the first request i’ve heard for Scav in 5 months.
    Converted it last nite, will have it open shortly. Taking some time
    to reduce it’s size by changing the largest models/textures to jpg.

    The only mode left publicaly unconverted as of yet, are:
    Moogle
    ToyBox
    Best-of-S3D
    ShockMod

    As for the sub-domains, For what purpose?
    As specific mod-building forums? There is already a Modders Forum that
    discusses the work on all the current mods of interest.
    Mod-Forums.
    Most mod authors that are part of thier construction on a constant
    basis are already present, and is open to any others interested.
