    Yes I was thinking along the same lines, except I would have paracutes batteries and shields highlighted for beigginers. Its just a better visual layout imo.

    Could this be something worth doing Gavin?

    Wow that looks great. Much more pollished than the current offering.

    What we really need is a standardized UI toolkit for the game that allows easy customization. Something like scaleform would be awsome but expensive, anyone know of a free toolkit.

    Is there a free version of GFx available (e.g. for academic purposes or independent developers)?

    Independent developers and students can download the latest UDK from the Epic website here which includes Scaleform GFx. We have plans to separately release Scaleform Gfx to the public for non-commercial use in 2011

    Ok so instead of doing my math I whiped up a GUI.. great..

    Its pretty self explanatory, the red arrow on the score can be clicked on to show extended rankings and kills and such…

    Box behind player name would be players avatar.

    Umm the health readout is much smoother and would display a numerical value instead of the words health meter.. could add a small blue bar to represent shield strength too 🙂

    Fuels batts chute have icon and number in their respective bubbles

    admin commands would ghost in same as buy menu, same with chat options.

    Power pallet would fill with power increase or decreases.

    bblah blah you get the point..

    actually now that i look at it, the chutes batts, fules, shields ect would look better lining the weapon loadout gauge.

    The end product would be metallic , brushed metal of some sort with 3d effect 🙂

    Looks good, I’ll take a look at those links. I had a quick look at the UDK scaleform before but I’ll try again. Crazy Eddies is also an option.
